Recommend ordering: 1. Shizi tou (lion head pork) 2. Niurou song (beef "something") 3. Kaoya tangbao (Roast duck dumplings) 4. Fried pork and vegetable dumplings 5. Sweet Lotus stuffed with rice 6. Salty duck (very good👍🏻) All dishes above are worthy of a try. A great place for lunch. You may need to wait a few minutes to be seated.... More

Last Christmas holiday, I had a 2-day travel to Nanjing. Since my best friend was studying there, she knew a lot of distinctive restaurants. The one that she recommended most was NanJing DaPai Dang. Though the name sounds a little low-class, the restaurant itself is much better than its name. I found a wooden bridge as soon as I entered... More

I had Nanjing Dapai Dang in Beijing and it was one of the best meals I ever had. This was completely opposite to the experience. No reason to go into details as everything was just terrible. Great steamed rice and service though!

The food is not great, but it is edible. I visit here occasionally, solely for the atmosphere, and usually to take a guest visiting Nanjing. Some dishes are better than others. The glutinous rice and pork dish is alright. The fried dumplings and the wonton soup is safe. The cold noodles are so bad. The stuffed lotus is not good... More

Positive: very nice ambience as if you are dining in a restaurant in the olden days of China. Highly recommended for first time tourists. A wide variety of food is ready to satisfy everyone with minimal waiting time because most told the food are ready made due to the massive amount of customer flow. Pricing is reasonable. Negative: taste of... More

We have been for lunch and were amazed by the nice interior, like a bavarian beer garden translated to Chinese. The food was superb and we enjoyed the experience. Very local, down to earth experience with large portion of almost everything. Definitely recommended.

The place is located at Hunan Road at Shiqiqiao. The restaurant serves a great variety of Nanjing dishes and snacks. It is quite popular and may need to queue up. The prices are inexpensive and the decore is and experience.

Really like the interior design of DaPaiDang. Great food with reasonable price. Was in Nanjing for 3 days and had two dinners over there!

This place is incredible. Do not be afraid to be adventurous. If it looks odd, smells funny, chances are the food is incredible. I loved the atmosphere as well as the amazing food.
