Walk down Nga Tsin Wai Road until you see Chow Yuen Fat's picture. You have arrived at Hoover Cake Shop. You can find all the classics here for a cheap price.

2 types I recommend Portuguese (pastry style) .true very good egg tart but unless you have time to spare or staying in the area not worth the journey however if you do want to try them bus no.1 from star ferry or Nathan road will...take you straight there alight carpenter road stop, they cost 7 dollars eachMore

After walking miles through many side and back streets in search of this elusive cake shop, I was disappointed with the widely praised Egg tarts. The pastry is amazing but the filling was a little underwhelming, while my wife enjoyed the little yellow tart I...was left wanting something a little sweeter. I would no discourage anybody from searching out this cake shop which is in a small little corner shop in Kowloon city, I would say take a taxi because the walk is not worth the prize.More

We went to Hoover due to the excellent reviews however when we got there the service was terrible. The lady was rude. It was far from MTR and it was just not worth it. The egg tarts had a funny aftertaste and overall we were...just not happy with any deserts. I would rather go back to where we previously had desert. We tried egg tarts, pineapple buns, peanut and mango mochi. DisappointedMore

We were told this place had the best egg tarts in Hong Kong where egg tarts are an important local favourite. Due to this we made the fairly long trek from Sheung Wan on Hong Kong Island all the way to (what felt like) the...back end of Kowloon for two little tarts. Was it worth it? Hell yes.More

The egg tarts are not cheap, but excellent nonetheless! The selection of cakes in the window is pretty huge for such a small place, but it's the egg tarts made with duck egg yolks that people come here for...and with good reason.

The egg tarts are really good and fresh. They are hot whether you buy in the morning or evening. But what is highly recommendable is the good service as well. It is a family shop. The shop attendants are very friendly. I recall an evening...I bought from a old lady. Though I only bought one egg tart which is HK $7, she was friendly, wish me a good day and enjoy your meal. Good service is highly recommendable. The delicious egg tarts is a bonus too. Keep it up.More

I'm not a fan of Egg Tarts and regret not ordering an additional desert item. People who I was with thought the Mango (?) tart and other pastries were better. The Egg Tart was very, very eggy. This is supposedly Chris Patton's favorite place for...Egg Tarts so it has quite a reputation on Must Try Food lists and is worth checking out if you are in Kowloon City. The Egg Tart costs only $7HKD.More
