I love spicy food. Ordered the diced chicken and it gives you the tingling sensation in your mouth that's really cool. Love it!

We had 8 different courses at Yun Yan. Overall, we were impressed by the finely tuned tastes and the quality of the cooking, but I had expected a few of the courses to be much hotter, so maybe it a reinterpretation with more subtle tastes? The location at Times Square is accessible but not the best. Service was uneven, depending... More

The Hot & Sour soup is outstanding which is reason enough to go for a meal however they have a fantastic array of choices on the menu not all of which will blow your head off with chilli pleasure. Try the 8 Treasure tea, marvellous stuff and helps to ease the chilli burn. A great restaurant with excellent service and... More

Of course you have to like spicy hot food if you choose to go to a Sichuan restaurant. Yun Yan gets the job done--flavor explosions in your mouth and head sweats. We had hot and sour soup with crabmeat and it was the best hot and sour soup I've had in a long time. The mandarin fish was very good,... More

Pretty ordinary experience all round, both in terms of service and food quality. This restaurant is one of many options in Times Square but the number of empty tables should be a give away - unfortunately we arrived early and thought that explained it! Service rather poor, hard to get attention of the waiters when not busy, was still hard... More

It's a lovely space on the 10th floor of Times Square. Enjoyed the fresh tofu with seven spices, and especially the whole fried fish. Everything was spicy, yes, but not overly so. They have good beer and also saké and baiju which we did not order. The Sichuan pepper ice cream must be sampled.

There were 15 of us, all old work colleagues some of which had not met for 15 years, and we were looking for somewhere where we can all eat and reminisce. The Yun Yan was perfect, a large table in a semi-private area. Sichuan style food is not as popular in Hong Kong as it used to be and it... More

Yun Yan is very good restaurant at Times Square. It's a Sichuan cuisine, and the dishes suggest this, despite I have to admit that it is not really spicy for that type of food. However it is very good - 8 flavour Tofu - Onion Cake - mandarin fish - spicy popcorn, to mention a few. They also add a... More
