It is famous for traditional English afternoon teas, but there is usually a long queue. Try their breakfast, lunch or dinner. Service is always impeccable and food good. I love their mulled wine, which they only serve in December and January. It is the best recipe I have ever had. It is the most beautiful lobby, dating back to 1928.... More

Yummy cucumber, salmon, ham sandwiches, scones and cakes in a gorgeous setting. A taste of life from the turn of the 20th century. See the green Rolls Royce limousines, particular to the hotel, dropping off guests. Easy to get to on the MTR or overland railway and near to the ferry terminus of Kowloon that takes you over to Hong... More

One should not miss to have an Afternoon Tea which offers excellent food, pastries and the best tea you can have. The atmosphere and the classical music in the lobby are very relaxing, ever for business people. Service excellent and you don't need a reservation if you are a guest of the hotel.

Wanted to checkout the Peninsula Hotel before we returned home to L.A.; it was WOW to walk through the lobby area and the shops especially with the Christmas decorations up. We decided to have treat ourselves to a late breakfast while we were there; however the food and service was not excellent but slightly above average. There were 3 of... More

Andie S (a few posts ago) was 'in the building' on the same afternoon as we were there (30th December), but I have to say I do not recognise what she says. Sure, we had to queue....one half of the Lobby is set aside for residents, and the rest of us have to wait our turn for the iconic experience.....to... More

Love doing high tea whenever I am in Hong Kong at the Peninsula Hotel. Staff told us when we were queuing that it would take 2.5 hours and encouraged us to leave and come back another day. I was adamant since I have made up my mind that I would do this tea that day so I queued up at... More

December 30th: My friend & I went there to try the Afternoon Tea as it was recommended by so many people--- but we came away thinking it was just so-so. There is one area reserved for in-house guests & the other side for walk-in guests. We had to wait in line for 1 hour & 10 minutes for the walk-ins... More

Stopped in for lunch. Took forever to be seated. Food was overpriced and mediocre. Service was beyond relaxed. But I have now eaten at the iconic Peninsula in Hong Kong. Priceless.

There has been long time I have not visited the lobby restaurant. we were there around 21:00, we saw some empty tables, with live band, the waiters are busy. We asked if there is available table for 4, the local waiter asked us to wait, and look around. After confirming from his local supervisor, the answer was "full". I said... More
