I was really excited to step into a Pakistani restaurant in China. Most restaurants in the street were chinese and I was longing for some roti and curry. As soon as I stepped in, I realized that I had forgotten something back in a shop, by the time I returned after collecting it, the rest of the family had placed... More

Big board outside says Halal food, but seriously doubt that, as alcohol was freely available. Didn't like to try it after that.

We got excited when we spotted sign stating Pakistani Halal. The only good things are the rice and chappati. Avoid the currys unless you are starving and anything halal goes.

They serve not authentic Pakistani food. The food is a rip off. The meat is few and served with cheap meat. The Pakistani curry is watery, not smooth/rich like other curries. The curry crab was overcooked and small. The place is noisy, not clean and uncomfortable. The price is also very expensive. Definitely not coming again.

Don't go there if you are clean and order maniac, this place is pact, noisy, NON-intimous yet you're 20 feet away from Temple Street, off jordan, so anything goes ! the curry though is exceptional prepared with mixed big/chopped/chunky vegetables where beef, tongue,, and crab ( in season ) have been boiling for a while. Remember to order the roti... More

Food — went there because of advise (definitely not best his advise) of our host in a hostel. Beef curry was terrible. Meat was in that condition when you couldn't recognize if it's beef or pork — or even if it's meat at all. Tasted like plastic. Shame on you, guys. Service — nothing to mention, but the chief was... This type of karahi is definitely catered to the Hong Kong crowd. It's very rich with chopped onions, definitely on the sweet side! Our dinner party loved it! However, if you're looking for a drier gingery thick hot karahi sauce, this might not be the place for you. Gotta try the Lamb Chops Karahi and Beef Karahi! Compliment it with... More

I'm the friend of the boss. The restaurant closed April last year and reopen a May 2009 using a similar name. I visit some day and cannot find the old boss but I still sit down and order the curry chicken rice. The taste is bad and I only eat 1/3 dish and leave.

Must have been the worst experience of dining I ever had. The restaurant claims to serve Pakistan and Malaysian style food. The dishes we got served was not really authentic to Pakistani or Malaysian cuisine. The curry was glibbery and overloaded with onions to give it some taste. The meat was pretty chewy and seemed to be mainly cheap muscle... More

Staying in Jordan / Yau Ma Tei

Neighborhood Profile
Jordan / Yau Ma Tei
The Jordan and Yau Ma Tei neighborhood is where you will find some of the more authentic areas of Hong Kong. Not as glamorous or busy as its neighbors Mong Kok to the north or Tsim Sha Tsui to the south, Yau Ma Tei is often mistakenly overlooked by visitors on their trips to Hong Kong. Exploring parts of this area makes you feel like you’ve been transported back in time. A large part of the neighborhood draws from the rich history of Temple Street, stretching from Jordan to Yau Ma Tei, where a mix of dai pai dongs (outdoor restaurants), market stalls, fortune tellers and old karaoke bars bring out the history and culture of the area. The neighborhood is a showcase of diversity – different ethnicities, cultures, and a mix of old and new.
