First experience at Lawrys for a high speed lunch....so we picked the asy way....soup and the roast beef rib. The soup was minestrone and most excellent. Served piping hot...just how I like it. For main, due to the time constraint, we took the beef rib roast. Served with mash gravy and creamed corn. Nice enough...but not legendary. The place is... More

The beef tenderloin was not tender. At Lawry's price, that was not supposed to happen. Told the waitress, he said he would tell his boss; and that was the end of that. The ambience and service was excellent, we particularly enjoy the generous space between tables. Vince

We tried a Christmas set in this restaurant. It should be around $800 HKD with a chowder crab soup, salad, steak/seafood, and dessert. Surprisingly, the soup was the best (I chose steak). Reminder: choose seafood, don't be blinded that this restaurant is famous for its steak. Actually don't come if you want good quality steak. A total waste of money.

On my way from Admiralty to Central I came across this place. Great prime rib in Asia! Friendly people and good service.

Lawry's was a random restaurant that we walked into today as the Chinese place which we wanted to visit had a special function and it was full house. We were greeted by the Lawry's host at the door and they seem friendly. The manager asked if it was our first time at Lawry's and they explained the Sunday semi buffet... More

Today dinner serve with special set, chosen scallop, shrimp and cheese for side dish, main dish in famous 10oz roast beef with toast and potato mash, dessert in warm chocolate cake. Wine and juice with refill. The food is fresh and in good taste. However , price at $798 plus 10% service fee, which are not so worth and many... More

Vow was expecting a lot and was very disappointed. Sunday lunch menu consisted of a $348 including soup, salad and dessert bar, a glass of wine and an entree of your choice. Most people would choose the prime rib, although at this price, they only give you the Hong Kong cut, which is very thin. The salad bar was ordinary,... More

Another go to spot for me. It's a 5 minute walk from work so definitely. The thicker cut, the better. Ask if it's possible to sear the sides for a betteer flavor and definitely get the Lawry's cut. Unlimited vino with just a little more is dangerous, so watch out.

Nothing to complain re the prime rib. Goes with a free glass of house wine or with extra 160, free flow of wine or sparkling. Service n food is great, except for the coffee. Just worse than McDonald's! How come!?

Staying in Central

Neighborhood Profile
Central
When people think of Hong Kong, most imagine movies with famous skyscrapers dominating the skyline. The area widely known as Central is the major financial hub and entertainment district, which truly lives up to the saying, “work hard, play hard.” Bars stay open late into the night and there just happens to be a street party every weekend. Although everything seems to be operating at lightning speed, Central is full of quiet, hidden gems. Nestled between office towers are wet markets and some of the city’s oldest restaurants dating back to the 1960s. Feeling a bit overwhelmed? Retreat from the crowds by exploring beautifully restored historical buildings and even a green oasis of botanical gardens.
