We (HK native living in Canada) have been coming here for years and watch it's business grew and gotten an M-Star. Somewhere alone the line, everything just went downhill and their business went from fully packed from 6-11pm, to only half full most times. We were there just now and got totally disgusted. When we were ready to order, we... More

A friend brought us here for dinner and it was quite enjoyable. There were some nice dishes such as fried garoupa pieces that you eat with corn syrup, chinese cabbage cooked in a claypot, baby crab with radish and fried rice in garlic, and preserved eggs with pickled ginger. The key course was their signature suckling pig, which we had... More

I went there to have dinner with my relatives on 26 April 2016. We ordered a set meal that included roast suckling pig, in addition, we ordered roast goose because I knew both roast suckling pig and roast goose were famous there. The environment there was ok, it is not so many customers there because it was weekday, not much... More

A small gathering of us ate here during the Sevens and it was ok. The location is perfect however, as mid way from Wanchai to the HK stadium.

this restaurant was famous for baby pig dish(?). You can see how they roast baby pigs through the window. But for me, baby pig was not that impressive. It was a bit salty, and greasy. What makes me surprise is the eggplant dish. It was the best eggplant dish that i have ever eaten. Surely other dishes would also give... More

This is a bit of a hidden gem for authentic food. On the ground floor you can see large fish tanks and also a place where the suckling pigs are roasted. We picked the recommended dishes from the menu and they were all very tasty! The roasted goose was our favorite, you can order in smaller portions (1/4 or 1/2... More

A colleague who works in Hong Kong picked this place for a team dinner. It's a typical Chinese restaurant in all aspects: The food is really tasty and there's a lot to choose from. Roasted pig appears to be their signature dish and and was really very good. I've never had such crispy yet tender skin on roast pig before.... More

Didn't realise HK had such great roast pigs - the soup and other dishes are great too! Very classic HK restaurant setting - many visitors even late into the night.

Xin Dau Ji has been opened the new branch at tsim sha tsui (ashley street) on 2015, this chinese restaurant has provided excellent dim sum (around HK40 per dish) and some traditional dishes for the eaters in the medium to high price. Crispy Suckling Pigs (half) is around HKD350 that is mainly fitted for 5-7 people. Pork Liver inside the... More

If you are ever in Wanchai district do drop by this restaurant, not only the dim sum is outstanding, their dinner is equally good!! Items to order, Roast Suckling Pig, Razor Clams in Black Bean Sauce! I also like the plates and saucers at the restaurant very retro HK style!

Staying in Wan Chai / Causeway Bay

Neighborhood Profile
Wan Chai / Causeway Bay
Wan Chai and Causeway Bay are the retail centers of Hong Kong Island. Filled with shops, malls and restaurants, both areas are bustling with people – tourists and locals alike. Causeway Bay has one of the highest rents on the planet, and is a bit more polished and modern than its Wan Chai counterpart. Beneath the surface there is more than meets the eye – find boutique stores in the above ground floors of buildings and wander into side streets to find interesting restaurants and shops tucked away from the main roads. Wan Chai especially has experienced a modern revival in recent times, with an influx of trendy restaurants and bars around the Star Street area. In addition, both areas contain many of Hong Kong’s iconic tourist attractions worthy of your visit.
