MICHELIN Guide's Point of View

Worry not – the xiao long bao are good enough to justify the long queueing time. The group’s executive chef visits here frequently to ensure quality. I...

It was WOW! WOW! when I first tried this brand in Taiwan/Hong Kong decade(s) ago. But now it has already lost its leading role in the market. Had it again alone yesterday as it's near to my hotel. I only ordered the popular "dan dan...noodles" (= peanut noodles) and xiao long bao (= steamed meat dumplings). The tasty is not bad, service so so, price quite high (HKD150), seating cozy and spacious. There're so many other restaurants and eateries that offer better or equally tasty Shanghai cuisine at much lower price. I have no reason to return to this restaurant.More

First time at Din Tai Fung and it was fabulous! Great speedy service too. Food just kept coming out piping hot. The funny thing was there were signs everywhere that you can't stay longer than 90 minutes, they even told us that before sitting us...down.More

The quality seems to have gone downhill since we visited a couple of years ago. The vegetarian dumplings were tasteless and the soup too. I had to add soy sauce and vinegar to the soup just to make it taste of something.

I'm from Taiwan, and I'd just returned from Australia, so we decided to try out the Yee Woo Branch for Din Tai Fung. I've never eaten Din Tai Fung in Hong Kong before, but I was longing for Taiwanese food. The staff were super nice,...and the food actually tasted like the food in the real Ding Tai Fung in Taiwan. My only complaint is that the appetizers were way too expensive.More

Have not been here for a while now, I found the quality decreased tremendously! It became such a tourist trap instead of focusing on offering tasty quality dumplings. Don't know if it were a replacement chef here for CNY, but the quality is now pretty...bad. The xiao long bao and especially the soup inside were so bland, dim sums with shrimp were overcooked and tasteless, the dough for shrimp pork shaomai was thick and the pan fried dumplings was chewy instead of crispy... The prices are really expensive for such poor quality food. Even the menus look now so cheap, so disappointing knowing how good they were before. Won't be coming back anytime soon for sure!More

This was my first ever visit to Din Tai Fung establishments although my eldest daughter is a fan. We chose the Causeway Bay outlet and at 1130 am were able to get a table by a window. The dishes were excellent and we enjoyed several...“Bao” and dumpling dishes and a very good spinach dish. Service was great and our server returned several times to fill our tea. Certainly won’t be long before a return visit and may even visit their Singapore branch later this week.More

Din Tai Fung never disappoints, the quality is consistently high and their xiao long bao is still my favorite. I order the 'tossed shredded beancurd with seaweed and bean sprout' every single time I visit this place. I've returned so many times and frankly I've...never ordered anything that's bad. Although the wait time isn't short, it's totally worth it.More

One of the best steamed pork dumplings in HKG. Other dishes like the Shao-Mei are also very good. Efficient service and reasonable prices. Highly recommended.

We were shopping at Causeway Bay and when it was time for dinner we searched online and found a restaurant nearby. Reaching there we found it to be a big, busy place bustling with all sorts of patrons. The food was very fresh and tasty...and the menu very detailed... a true haven for people with vegan, vegetarian halal preferences. Will definitely go again when in the vicinity.More
