After reading all the great reviews, I was really looking forward to lunch. Started out with promise with a very nice cheese and bread plate. Stopped there. Took over an hour to be served our main dishes. Steak was served cold and in seasoned. The salmon was quite good, but the pasta was so undercooked it was actually hard and... More

great place to sit and watch the world (hong kong) go by. Ice cold Peroni beer and great tapas for happy hour, it doesn't get any better.

Accidental find, but surprising. An Italian bistro style opening onto the noisy street. the menu was very good and the food was beautifully presented and excellent. Certainly not what we had expected in this part of Hong Kong. Service by both Italian and local staff was European in nature rather than the often gruff Chinese style (at least to non-Chinese).

La Piola is hard to miss - just head up Lyndhurst Terrace and look for the place on the corner with loads of people outside. Then look inside and hope that there's a table free downstairs to grab some food. Service is great at La Piola, friendly, efficient - everyone seems to know their job and keeps a good eye... More

We wanted something different from Chinese and found this place by accident in Soho area of Central. Very attentive service, nice little extras, and not too expensive for Central.

I really like the aperitivo here, I come quite often. The restaurant upstairs is a bit overpriced in my opinion and the dishes are quite average. The steak is good.

I visited HK for 5 days on a girls trip. We returned to La Piola 3 times for drinks before and/or after dinner. We loved the ambiance and standing on a street corner in SOHO. The staff at La Piola is very nice and efficient. Great little spot.

A very conveniently placed little watering hole with professional, friendly and quick bar service, it offers a tasty range of little morsels at 'cocktail hour' to keep the hunger pangs at bay and keep you balanced as you continue drinking! Serving long cold glasses of Pierroni a favourite, the vibe is Italian and energetic with mostly local patrons spilling onto... More

Located in the "central" district, this is by far the best italian restaurant in Hong Kong. With a Piemontese style menu, Pasta and Meat are the best choices. Main products are all imported directly from Italy, this is a clear indicator of commitment to quality. A nice win cellar offer a quite good choice of italian's etiquettes. Restaurant also offer... Honestly speaking, La Piola got few ups and downs, ups ? > location is superb > atmosphere is nice > service is good > big selection at the Aperitivo Downs ? > Food menu seems a bit overpriced > Portions seems to be a bit small Recommendation ? Stick to the aperitivo :)

Staying in Central

Neighborhood Profile
Central
When people think of Hong Kong, most imagine movies with famous skyscrapers dominating the skyline. The area widely known as Central is the major financial hub and entertainment district, which truly lives up to the saying, “work hard, play hard.” Bars stay open late into the night and there just happens to be a street party every weekend. Although everything seems to be operating at lightning speed, Central is full of quiet, hidden gems. Nestled between office towers are wet markets and some of the city’s oldest restaurants dating back to the 1960s. Feeling a bit overwhelmed? Retreat from the crowds by exploring beautifully restored historical buildings and even a green oasis of botanical gardens.
