This restaurant has gotten mixed reviews. This is one of the good ones. If you like your food strongly flavored (as I usually do), you might not appreciate Shang Palace. It's a Cantonese restaurant, so flavors will be mild right off the bat. And you won't find dishes with strong garlic or ginger seasoning, like much Chinese food. What Shang... More

My husband took me here for my birthday dinner during our HK holiday. Ambiance: This place is gorgeous. It's bright, warm, and has an intimate feel. The main dining room definitely leave an impression when you walk in. The patron almost exclusively Chinese. We appeared to be the only westerners in the restaurant that evening. Dress is business casual. Service:... More

My wife and I were staying at the Shangri-La over Thanksgiving weekend. We ate at Po Lin monastery on Thanksgiving day but had a celebratory meal here a few days later. We both had one of the set meals.. my wife the vegetarian, me a more normal meal with wine pairings. My wife ran out of room for her food,... More

What an amazing restaurant! It was just what we were looking for. Beautiful traditional Chinese décor, kind and attentive service and fantastic food. High end but not stuffy. We loved it so much we returned twice during our week in Hong Kong. The restaurant’s patrons constituted 99% Chinese (well dressed – Men in suits, Women in fashionable designer dresses). Everything... More

Alway wondering what would it be for a Michelin 2 star Chinese food, so we came here for a lunch during our Hong Kong trip. The food is wonderful, shrimp is al dente , turnip cake is soft but not mashed.

First the good news. Very attractive ambience in a classic Chinese design. Also very friendly and earnest wait staff. The bad: cuisine is unimaginative. Compared with far less expensive establishments in Penang and Canton, the quality is quite poor. Although our mushrooms appetizer was good, the main dish, an undercooked pigeon, was smothered in a sickly sweet sauce. My wife's... More

I have eaten in this restaurant on several dozen occasions and have never been disappointed. Dim Sum lunch is the tastiest I have been able to find and the service leaves nothing more to ask for. Come hungry and enjoy!
