Memorable Xmas lunch

Went there with the three generations in the family for Xmas lunch. There is not even one course that I can fault! Three entrees were paella cracker with sea urchin, mixed salad with foie gras and black truffle and last one of marinated tuna. Two slow cooked mains were crispy baby chicken and... read more

This is a fantastic restaurant. I walked in at 12pm without a reservation, and although they were full they still managed to seat me if I could finish up by 1:15. Since it was lunch, this was totally fine by me. I had the wagyu beef which came with a delightfully creamy mushroom and tomato stew, and it was fantastically... More

Quirky interior dominated by chubby white penguins (on lighting fixtures and on walls ) which supposedly represented the name of the restaurant 'Fofo' meaning "soft, spongy, flabby" in Spanish. Well...according to our accomodating waiter. The tapas were fine...the red sangria well-prepared...paella was extremely salty but they managed to redeem the experience with complimentary dessert of scrumptious apple crumble and decadent... Despite our repeated requests, we were told the good tables were all fully booked and finally given a poorly located table beside a noisy family table within an almost empty restaurant. All through our dinner time till late, the so-called booked tables were still empty and only filled with still air. What an "exceptional" experience to go with the average... More

I enjoyed a Saturday set brunch menu at Fofo. The ambience is great with views of the mid-levels, bright white decor and tables nicely spaced to give you a sense of privacy. The brunch offers a number of small plates of exceptional quality and flavour including scallop ceviche and foie gras and we chose the seafood paella as our main.... More

I live in Hong Kong and follow the Tatler guide all of the time, the write up was great so we were very keen. I had been wanting to go to FoFo's for a while and we decided to go on Saturday night. We had a drink on the roof terrace but once we were seated we did not get... More

I have eaten here many times for both lunch and dinner over the last year and a half, and the food, service and views. The menu changes regularly so there is always something new. Service is prompt and waiters are knowledgeable and capable both in English and Cantonese. Views on the side opposite to the entrance are unusual, as one... More

...fantastic view and contemporary atmosphere! What else could you ask for? We just LOVED everything about our brunch experience there today!!! (HKD 298/person excluding drinks. HKD 150 on top for free flow cava/bubbly) Went to "Fofo" with our family of 4 and had the set brunch menu for all of us. From the scallop sevicce and garlic prawns as well... More

The food was good, not excellent but OK. What I liked was the decoration and location! And the tables are not too close so one can talk and hear one another! Lovely view over botanical gardens!

We came here to sample the views and the food - both didnt disappoint. Quite a funky little place with a nice array of tapas and some relatively decent wine. Shamefully drinking from plastic cups (as the bar was on the rooftop) but nonetheless a great spot...

Staying in Central

Neighborhood Profile
Central
When people think of Hong Kong, most imagine movies with famous skyscrapers dominating the skyline. The area widely known as Central is the major financial hub and entertainment district, which truly lives up to the saying, “work hard, play hard.” Bars stay open late into the night and there just happens to be a street party every weekend. Although everything seems to be operating at lightning speed, Central is full of quiet, hidden gems. Nestled between office towers are wet markets and some of the city’s oldest restaurants dating back to the 1960s. Feeling a bit overwhelmed? Retreat from the crowds by exploring beautifully restored historical buildings and even a green oasis of botanical gardens.
