We were returning late from a trip to Lantau Island and needed somewhere to stop for dinner. The Thai Farmer in Wan Chai is centrally located and the food was delicious, we ordered a beef and chicken dish and were thoroughly satisfied. Considering how late it was when we went searching for food is was amazing how tasty and enjoyable... More

I regularly visit this little restaurant when I'm in H.K. The place I'd extremily informal, food is great...portions are extremely large and service is friendly. It seems also that you need to be a member to eat-in but every time I've showed up they have accommodated me without problems.

Easy to find, wide range of dishes, well priced (generally $60 - $80 HKD). My meal (thai red curry) was delicious. Only disappointment was the service which came across as rude, rushed and unwanting.

Ate here only once, but the food was very tasty and creamy. Discovered this place on my last day. Would have visited more if i had noticed them earlier.

Tried this Thai restaurant with a friend and I would recommend to anyone who wants to have good Thai food in HK! The people are nice and friendly, the place is quite small so either reserve a table or go there early. Not a place for a romantic dinner, just an easy going one.

You can easily pass this restaurant as it is a small frontage with about 8 tables inside. We love the Chilli club which is almost above this restaurant but the food here surpasses anything the Chilli club can do. Also the staff are very pleasant. The tables are simple formica tops and the chairs simple metal variety. However the food... More

We came in and ordered sweet and sour prawn, black pepper chicken (Although they brought out black pepper beef as they took the wrong order and yet we are kind enough to accept it), stir fried morning glory and some steam rice. Being an Asian who traveled a lot to Australia, Canada and Europe, to be honest, this is the... More

Always quick, fresh and cheap. Staff are always nice. You might have to line up and wait between 12 and 1:30pm but you normally don't have to wait to long.

In Wanchai a decent set lunch now generally sets us back anywhere from HK$88 to $108+, but here it was $58, and considering it included something called soup, good main Thai-ish main course with rice or noodles, choice of several drinks, and a little bowl of dessert, it was absolutely great value. No service charge either. The place opens at... More

I was looking forward to eating here after reading the reviews on TripAdvisor, which most times have served me well. What a disappointment. I ordered spring rolls which were dry and had potato in them?? For my main course, I had Chicken Panang curry. The curry itself was average and edible, but the chicken didn't taste fresh. The only thing... More

Staying in Wan Chai / Causeway Bay

Neighborhood Profile
Wan Chai / Causeway Bay
Wan Chai and Causeway Bay are the retail centers of Hong Kong Island. Filled with shops, malls and restaurants, both areas are bustling with people – tourists and locals alike. Causeway Bay has one of the highest rents on the planet, and is a bit more polished and modern than its Wan Chai counterpart. Beneath the surface there is more than meets the eye – find boutique stores in the above ground floors of buildings and wander into side streets to find interesting restaurants and shops tucked away from the main roads. Wan Chai especially has experienced a modern revival in recent times, with an influx of trendy restaurants and bars around the Star Street area. In addition, both areas contain many of Hong Kong’s iconic tourist attractions worthy of your visit.
