Several work collages and I were wandering up Peel Street looking for a spot for a nightcap when out came Bob like a modern day carnival huckster to lure us into his place. So glad he did! He presented us with a beautifully curated selection of wines and let us settle in to enjoy our picks. Before long, the wine... More

I had intended to go to a restaurant across the street with a friend. Then Bob came out a talked to people. Le Moment, is literally a small cafe type resto, a little cramped perhaps, but the joy that comes out of the kitchen and the treatment as a friend by Bob, the owner. was totally unexpected and very welcome.... Welcomed by Bob outside on the street - fantastic menu on offer and some of the best food I've had in HK over two weeks. Smoked salmon with the best home made caesar sauce I've ever had; deep and rich tomato bisque; perfectly cooked ribeye. Wine was discussed, described and imbibed. Thoroughly recommended. It may be western food in the... More

Was passing through Peel street in Soho on the way to dinner and stumbled across this amazing little bar / Reataurant. I cannot comment on the food but Bob, the owner, was really awesome and knowledgeable about his wines and IPA. I asked his recommendation on a white wine and he recommended a reasonably priced Sauvignon Blanc and then he... More

We dined here after being told by the restaurant over the road (la vache) there was a 2 hour wait (and clearly they weren't that interested in putting us on the waiting list). We were surveying the nearby options on our phones and the owner of Le Moment came out and did a very good job of convincing us that,... More

To the restaurant owner, Bob, just want to give you a big shout for being such a wonderful and passionate host. The duck was insanely good and that wine, Madone Cuvée Futs de Chêne, was exactly as you said; smooth as a baby's bottom!

Description
This is a great little restaurant in the MidLevel area of HongKong offering an unique dining experience of high quality and individual flair. It offers a set menu changing every day for Lunch and Dinner offering great food combined with the owners passion and knowledge of great wines! It is also possible to simply have a glass of wine, cup of tea or coffee and maybe a slice of homemade cake(delicious) and sit and watch the world go by on Peel Street. Peel Street itself is an amazing little street with an African Bar a Jazz bar a Chocolate restaurant/ cafe a couple of nightclubs a traditional Dim Sum restaurant and a Temple and a shop whose owner is in The Guiness book of records for making the worlds most expensive umbrella! I look forward to publishing my review of Lemomnet and who knows maybe it will lead to more reviews of Peel Street. Thank you! Lanze

Staying in Central

Neighborhood Profile
Central
When people think of Hong Kong, most imagine movies with famous skyscrapers dominating the skyline. The area widely known as Central is the major financial hub and entertainment district, which truly lives up to the saying, “work hard, play hard.” Bars stay open late into the night and there just happens to be a street party every weekend. Although everything seems to be operating at lightning speed, Central is full of quiet, hidden gems. Nestled between office towers are wet markets and some of the city’s oldest restaurants dating back to the 1960s. Feeling a bit overwhelmed? Retreat from the crowds by exploring beautifully restored historical buildings and even a green oasis of botanical gardens.
