We felt like we had discovered a local's secret when we found the Macau Restaurant - the pork chop buns are delish and if there is no line up you can be in and out in no time fuelled for the day ahead.

We were recommended to this place by a local friend. As it is a HK cafe style restaurant, it opens early for breakfast and closes only after dinner service. We got our table quickly as it was about 8am and not quite peak crowd yet. The crusty bread with a dollop of butter and condensed milk is nice and our... More

Macau Restaurant is a place that serves Macanese cuisine as well as Hong Kong favorites that we recently discovered. Our companion, Delight who is used cruising Harbour City, introduced us to different restaurants in Lock Rd. but preferred this place for its authentic facade. Despite of the many customers in line and with their wide and delectable menu, food was... More

On our first day in Hong Kong we decided to go to Macau Restaurant as it was around the corner from our hotel. This was a mistake as the service in here was the worst I've ever experienced anywhere. While we were waiting for a menu the supervisor, Winnie, took the salt, pepper, soy sauce, etc off our table and... More

It's good primer to Macanese food but nothing special. They do have a good selection and great deals for lunch and is quite popular. Be prepared to wait in line outside (it's short and quick). You have to flag the wait staff down to put in an order otherwise you will wait there forever.

This place looked small from the outside. There were three of us dining so the Manager directed us to the eating area upstairs. It's a splash of colour really. Orange, green and blue leather cubicle sittings with lights everywhere. I loved the atmosphere inside. The waiters were so helpful and the food was served to fit an islander - big... More

I've never had dinner at this restaurant, however there is always a big queue. My favourite are the Macau Custard Tarts. You can queue jump and pay upfront at the desk. They give you a ticket and then the waitress boxes up the custard tarts. Make sure you buy 6.

Went there for afternoon tea. Was crowded still at 2pm and had to share table w strangers. Very crowded restaurant and cramp. Thus even thought tarts and yuanyang- coffee milk tea mix, is nice, could not try other dishes as you just want to have a quick bite and go off due to the noisy crowded ambience. Typical HK restaurant.

My favorite fired pigeon, fried rice, vegetable and squid, egg tart, great dish at reasonable price. Service was fast, but staff are rude. I will still enjoy this place every time I visit Hong Kong.
