Mo Bar is the opposite of the traditional style Clipper Lounge at the Mandarin Oriental, the sister property of the Mandarin group. Here the decor is contemporary. Like most high price establishments in Hong Kong, the food is average but the atmosphere is fantastic. Have a cup of tea and people watch. Avoid ordering food.

Really nice atmosphere. Extreme loungie music and the right people to make it a superb experience. The people who serve your drinks are extreme friendly and give you a nice feeling. So I'll be back for sure !!!!

A lovely aroma as you walk in to the entrance. Staff are excellent and knowledgeable: welcoming, friendly and real professionals. Environment is icy cold and your food gets cold quite quickly. The food is rather average for a Mandarin, I was expecting a more interesting menu and better tasting meal. Their olives are great for nibbles- really well flavoured and... More

The beautiful set (perfect for a James Bond movie!), the staff so kind (very well dressed), geat music and the best cocktails in Hong Kong... I simply adored this bar.You have to try the famous Mo Tox cocktail, exquisite! Definitely the place to be!

MO Bar is simply fantastic! Food, staff, drinks! There is something here for every age. It's perfectly located, especially if you just need to grab a drink, and a snack! I visited everyday on my 2 week trip! I was there during their Pop Up events, one that featured High Five bar! Can't wait to visit again!

We arrived 15 minutes earlier than our 3:15 pm afternoon tea reservation made last week and was told the table was not ready and had to wait. Finally at 3:15 pm we were seated. We had afternoon tea and coffee. Things were alright until 4 pm when the hostess asked us to leave coz they needed the table for another... More

Got there around 10pm and the place was quite busy on Halloween weekend. The hostess found us a table by the windows and from that point we felt relieved again after spending half hour walking trying to find a descent place for a glass of champagne with our friends. Music was good and we had some good cocktails as well.... More

The place is small, and dark. Curtains are closed which ruins the experience of being in Central HK. Place was basically empty. The waiter was not very knowledgeable about the food menu. He answered twice: I don't know, I have to ask. We ordered a cheese platter and a charcuterie platter. Ok it is the MO so of course it... More

Cocktails are very well-prepared - the negronis were on point. Price point reflects the crowd you'll find here.

But still not bad at all. Drinks have been good here for many years and design is cool too. I also enjoyed the breakfast here.

Staying in Central

Neighborhood Profile
When people think of Hong Kong, most imagine movies with famous skyscrapers dominating the skyline. The area widely known as Central is the major financial hub and entertainment district, which truly lives up to the saying, “work hard, play hard.” Bars stay open late into the night and there just happens to be a street party every weekend. Although everything seems to be operating at lightning speed, Central is full of quiet, hidden gems. Nestled between office towers are wet markets and some of the city’s oldest restaurants dating back to the 1960s. Feeling a bit overwhelmed? Retreat from the crowds by exploring beautifully restored historical buildings and even a green oasis of botanical gardens.
