Unpretencious, but with a location to die for: at the point where the people on the mid-level escalators cross Staunton Street in Hong Kong's SoHo district. Working for a Chinese company I get to go to HK pretty often- so often, that the YP's management started to notice that the "guy from... read more

We spent a couple of afternoons in this place with a beer and food just watching the bustling Hong Kong world go by. The food was very good and the prices were quite reasonable. It can get very busy as it is in the ex-pat area of Hong Kong however if you can get a seat over looking the mid-levels... More

Food has always been decent pub grub but not sure what has happened. Fish & chips for HKD 170 you'd expect a larger piece of fish. Also ordered Bangers & Mash which was a tiny portion for what you pay for (think HKD 160). Biggest gripe was that both meals were extremely salty. Not sure I will come back for... More

Went there twice and have to say, I enjoyed it very much as the staff was super friendly and the served food was outstanding for a bar. You can either watch some sport games on tv or watch people walking up and down the mid-level-escalators. It's definitely worth the value!

Came in for lunch with my family. The food was poor. Staff were inhospitable and unhelpful. No provision given for my daughter who is coeliac.

When we found a pub called the Yorkshire pudding we couldn't resist popping in for a beer, we had been in Hong Kong for nearly 3 weeks so we really liked the name. It is a good place for a beer, the service was good and they have football on the screens too. I would recommend this place.

Being a Brit when I found a pub called the yorkshire pudding I couldn't resist. Its a pub so there is bar food and drinks in a great location just 2 steps from the mid level escalator. Very busy and buzzing area so a good place to stop for drinks.

Stopped in for a bite and a pint on a Sunday, having been here before. My wife ordered a medium rare Hamburger, which showed up in an oversize bun, slightly charred, with this pathetic size piece of meat, that was very well done. The fires were limp and tasteless. I ordered a lamb sausage with Yorkshire pud with garlic mashed... More

Was killing time and needed some lunch before an appointment. This place occupies a prime spot on Staunton Street at the mid level escalators . Opted for a small Caesar Salad with Chicken. Was tasty enough but far too light on the dressing- had to go searching for it. Salad was dry as a result. $ 330HKD for 2 small... More

Staying in Central

Neighborhood Profile
When people think of Hong Kong, most imagine movies with famous skyscrapers dominating the skyline. The area widely known as Central is the major financial hub and entertainment district, which truly lives up to the saying, “work hard, play hard.” Bars stay open late into the night and there just happens to be a street party every weekend. Although everything seems to be operating at lightning speed, Central is full of quiet, hidden gems. Nestled between office towers are wet markets and some of the city’s oldest restaurants dating back to the 1960s. Feeling a bit overwhelmed? Retreat from the crowds by exploring beautifully restored historical buildings and even a green oasis of botanical gardens.
