I wasn't expecting to come across such fresh, delicious Mexican in Hong Kong but Agave is certainly that. We shared nachos and a fish dish (simmered in a tomato and green olive sauce) and both meals were really fresh and made with high quality ingredients. The margaritas were also excellent (and the staff able to advise on the numerous tequila... More

This is a regular stop for me. Used to be a great place to sit, drink and people watch. Don't know if under new mgmt or what, but a bit of a wreck now. They only have one AC unit working, so now the Windows (where all the great people watching took place) are firmly closed. They said they can't... More

We were here for dinner, seated right away. Service was hospitable however ambience was a bit on the tacky side. Dimly lit and cheesy fit out. GUACAMOLE: We were starving when sat down so inhaled this. Plenty of chips (couldn't finish them) fresh guac a little bland needed more lime/lemon. PRAWN CEVICHE: Rubbery texture, do not order. They offer a... More

We were staying near by and came here for the 2 for 1 happy hour and returned twice more due to the great food and service. Everything we ate here was delicious, I cant remember the name but the dish that came out in the steaming hot stone bowl was amazing! I loved the corn chips they use there. The... More

The restuarant is at lockhart road near night life area not recommended with family. Food is average since they hiked prices recently so grade is average from good because of value of money. not a great experience.

The margaritas are overpriced and taste of cheap tequila and triple sec but mostly just just cheap margarita mix at around HK 130 each. The place is dreary, I have been in worse places but at least they were fun - this is not - just had the bar food which was just OK. Honestly you can do better in... More

this restaurant has a very nice ambience, amazing happy drinks and very good food. We had mushroom fundido and chicken fajitas that were succulent. the service is very good, nice staff and if you're lucky you might get a stool chair in the open window facing the street and a view of all the action, very nice place

This is not high end restaurant sure but food is taste, margerita's are good. If you get a chance sit at the front side and watch out to the street in Wanchai. Enjoy the view with a lot of people strolling along the streets and have some food. Afterwards plenty of nice place to make party until sunrise :-)

Every time I'm in Hong Kong, I have to go to Agave. The food here is very good. Go for the fajitas and ask for corn tortillas instead of flour - amazing every single time. Food is expensive (Veggie fajitas are $158HKD as of April 2016), but it's Hong Kong. As others have said, the view is of other bars... More

The vibe of this place, food, crowd, service, cuisine and the overall buzz is amazing. Went here after a long day in the city and felt completely rejuvenated at the end of it. Staff is jovial and the bar area is gushingly inviting...Mexican food in Hong Kong makes Agave an interesting find and the lively neighborhood adds to the charm... More

Description
Agave offers a menu showcasing regional specialties and creative dishes from Guadalajara, Mexico’s second most populated city, as well as Jalisco. Ingredients used such as various chilies, cactus and fresh green tomatillos are imported from Mexico, whilst our tortillas are handmade on site. Guests can try our wide selection of tequilas or savor our well-known margaritas at the long bar. The ambience is authentically Mexican as vivid oranges and reds exhibit the unique architectural style of Luis Barragán, one of the most influential Mexican architects of the 20th Century.

Staying in Wan Chai / Causeway Bay

Neighborhood Profile
Wan Chai / Causeway Bay
Wan Chai and Causeway Bay are the retail centers of Hong Kong Island. Filled with shops, malls and restaurants, both areas are bustling with people – tourists and locals alike. Causeway Bay has one of the highest rents on the planet, and is a bit more polished and modern than its Wan Chai counterpart. Beneath the surface there is more than meets the eye – find boutique stores in the above ground floors of buildings and wander into side streets to find interesting restaurants and shops tucked away from the main roads. Wan Chai especially has experienced a modern revival in recent times, with an influx of trendy restaurants and bars around the Star Street area. In addition, both areas contain many of Hong Kong’s iconic tourist attractions worthy of your visit.
