Tucked away, this dark restaurant has an excellent authentic Chinese food menu. Dim Sum as well as other Chinese Food Favorites are available. If you are looking for some quiet and calm, this is the place to eat. Service is good, food is great.

Unfortunately, Stanley doesn't have a lot of choice when it comes to half decent restaurants. The food is unexceptional. However, if you are travelling with a large group, they are pretty flexible and the service is acceptable (by Hong Kong standards). In the end, you are better off visiting Stanley in the morning or walking in the mountains to Stanley,... More

Before finding this place we passed many much more expensive restaurants along the water front promenade and weren't too impressed by what was on offer. While studying the menu outside a couple who were just leaving highly recommended the food. We agreed and gave a similar view to some other people who we met when we left. We had 7... More

You know a restaurant is catering to more of a tourist crowd when they are pushing mimosas and sangria on their weekend brunch/lunch patrons. Unfortunately, when you are in the Stanley Market area of Hong Kong, it's hard to find something that caters more toward the locals and we were craving dim sum. Shu Zhai does have a good selection... Each time I hit Stanley Market I will definitely swing by Shu Zhai. Specially love their Deep Fried Prawn Wantons/dumplings & X.O Carrot Cake! Highly recommended!

We've had dim sum here 3 times over 5 years and it is just as delicious each time. It's tucked away off the beaten path in Stanley and we stumbled upon it 5 years ago when we asked a local vendor to recommend a dim sum restaurant in the area. It's the only Asian restaurant around and it's fairly busy.... More

Very local though in the heart of Stanley Markets. A rickshaw out the front of the restaurant and a dark entrance leading to the restaurant which is over 2 levels. Food is fresh and very tasty. Also very reasonably priced for the area. Favorites on the menu are, pork mince with beans, prawn dumplings, Dan pang noodles, pork buns, salt... More

I had already been to this restaurant during my first visit to HongKong, and decided to bring my sister here on my return trip. On the outside and quite frankly on the inside it is quite traditional and a bit unassuming. Though I personaly loved the this look of this restaurant. And it's not the outside that counts - what... We arrived in the late afternoon. The place looked very traditional Chinese and since my partner is Chinese she thought we might get some decent Chinese food - which is rare in Stanley. The experience was terrible. The staff seemed completely uninterested and hung around at one of the other tables engaged in their own conversation with one of the... More

We had walked past the various eateries along the waterfront, looking for something more than the all-purpose menus available there and designed to attract a wide variety of international tourist tastes. We wanted proper local cuisine and more or less chanced on Shu Zhai. Atmospheric decor with a great range both of dim sum and of full-portion dishes, all interesting... More
