This was a great meal. As always we picked the set menu to make sure we got some different things and the food was delicious. Service was fine (which is high praise) and the atmosphere was lovely. Would definitely go back.

Our favorite restaurant in HK. We have been there 3 times within ten days. Each meal were excellent, but nothing tops their cashew chicken with hot pepers. Sizzling shrimp and fried noodles are also very good. Waiters are friendly and service is high quality. Peanuts and tea are very nice either.

This is a quintessential restaurant to visit in HK. It is small and enter a time warp with traditional decor ! V v original of what HK was like before all the cosmo arrived. Warning if u can't take spicy foods tell the waiter! There were two of us and we ordered 3 small portions of dishes! And we still... More

This is quite a find dining restaurant. It was a sichuan style restaurant. Thus, the foods would emphasize on spicy and chili. The sizzling prawns is a must-try. The service was good. The location is not that hard to find.

We visited this restaurant over 20 years ago and boy has it changed and for the better. The staff are excellent, in particular Stephen was so helpful in advising us how many dishes to try. Not like our English Chinese Restaurants who allow you to pile up too many dishes. Stephen seemed pleased that I knew that a scene with... More

The food at this restaurant is really very good. I would highly recommend this place for anyone that is looking for good authentic Sichuan food. I have been here on more than one occasion and the food is always very good.

I go to the Red Pepper every trip to Hong Kong and avidly recommend it to anyone travelling there. I've brought ex-pats, visitors and locals there and they have all agreed that it is a great little hidden jem. I actually carry their business card in my wallet so I can find it when I'm there or tell someone else... More

The best meal i have had in Hong Kong. The fried prawns with chilli sauce, diced chicken with cashew nut and pepper, fried garoupa with sweet and sour sauce and the onion cake were exceptional. We were given a small room upstairs as we were a family group. Staff very helpful.

I have eaten here several times and whilst the food is good I feel it is overpriced. Having said that if there was an option on here to rate 'good' rather than average or very good I would have chosen this option. The sizzling garlic prawns were excellent as was the chicken and cashew nuts with chilli. The fried noodles... More

The Red Pepper, Hong Kong, is a must for all of you that enjoy spicy Cantonese food. Booking is a must but you will not be disappointed. We have been there several times and it had never failed to impress, no dish is a stand out - they are all supreme. Staff are friendly, attentive and smiling

Staying in Wan Chai / Causeway Bay

Neighborhood Profile
Wan Chai / Causeway Bay
Wan Chai and Causeway Bay are the retail centers of Hong Kong Island. Filled with shops, malls and restaurants, both areas are bustling with people – tourists and locals alike. Causeway Bay has one of the highest rents on the planet, and is a bit more polished and modern than its Wan Chai counterpart. Beneath the surface there is more than meets the eye – find boutique stores in the above ground floors of buildings and wander into side streets to find interesting restaurants and shops tucked away from the main roads. Wan Chai especially has experienced a modern revival in recent times, with an influx of trendy restaurants and bars around the Star Street area. In addition, both areas contain many of Hong Kong’s iconic tourist attractions worthy of your visit.
