On our last night in HK. I wanted something spicy. Our hotel's concierge pointed us to Red Pepper in Causeway Bay - it wasn't very far so that's something good. The place looked like it came out from some cheesy Chinese movie - lanterns, tables, and the decor. We were seated near the wall which has a very *hot* yellow... More

The meal was OK, but not very good value for money, as it was mediocre at best. Tea was given without asking and was chargeable.

This place is an old restaurant I went to my first week here 15 years ago. Still the same fare and very good. If you like spicy food go there.

We were really surprised by the price of the food for the type of food we got. I guess we are used to eating out in nice restaurants in Bangkok and Kuala Lumpur which of course are different prices and different cities. We had rice, chicken, beef and broccoli, one beer, two cokes and green tea and paid over 900... More

I have to declare that this was a restaurant I first visited with my parents about 40 years ago! so I was delighted it was still open and I could take my family. The décor is classic Chinese restaurant, red and gold everywhere! The tables were a mixture of local westerners and Chinese, and tourists. We ordered the classic Red... More

Most of the good Chinese restaurants in Hong Kong are Cantonese...this is an exceptional place for spicy Szechuan food. Don't miss out on the spicy prawns (you have to hold the napkin in front of your face when they "sizzle" them as the fumes are strong!).

The fact that this restaurant has been in business for 46 years is sufficient testimony to its consistent quality. Although on the tourist trail and although it boasts a Bruce Lee connection, it is frequented largely by locals, which is further recommendation.

"Real" Chinese might be just a little bit to much for the newly arrived, but here you can bridge western and eastern world's perfectly. The Red Pepper served yummy, high quality and fastly prepared dishes you might want to try and will for sure love. Servers are fast and working here for ages. The menu offers you a variety of... I first visited the Red Pepper in the mid-90s on the recommendation of a good friend. On every visit to HK, I have been back, most recently in January. It has not changed and the sizzling chili shrimp and honey bananas are still excellent. The prices are moderate, but worth it. The pictures of the food tell the story best.
