Was again in HK and its almost impossible to find a nice and quiet spot to enjoy a drink and cigar. The Pawn Bar on first floor is brilliant with a small terrace overlooking the busy Wan Chai district. Everything fairly priced, which is not common in HK. Will return back for another break out.

I visited The Pawn Kitchen on a recent stay in HK. I had eaten at a private dining event once before but on a different level, top floor, and with a different menu by culinary genius Tom Aikens. This was a fantastic meal and again he has taken the mundane and turned it into something special. Excellent quality, excellent preparation.... More

Even bread is a menu item. I had been to Tom's London restuarant. The Pawn is very overpriced! Somewhat disappointed as an overall experience.

Came here with a group of friend visiting from England. Great atmosphere, decor and nice drinks! Place gets very busy so go early or try and make a booking. We had a great time and I recommend for those who are visiting Hong Kong to make a visit to this bar.

This is a very upmarket restaurant! With a leaning toward seafood, but not exclusively, the food is very well executed, creative and delightful. We walked in without a booking on a Saturday night about 7pm. If you were to book ask for a table on the balcony for added interest. You certainly pay for what you get, it's a higher... More

We found this place whilst we were wandering around the area. What a great find it was, very friendly staff, good view from the balcony, great selection of food & wine.

We only went for drinks so cannot comment on restaurant and food. I'll give the bar the benefit of the doubt (4* rather than 3*) as we were probably earlier than rush hour and so the atmosphere was a little quiet. The drinks were nice, the DJ spun some good tunes and the staff were attentive but as it was... More

The service is always wonderful, and the food is always lovely; although my husband says his burger was a bit on the cold side, but this is a first world problem we know!

Menu sounds delicious but disappoints, much of the flavours being at best cautious and at worst bland. Hamachi with truffle and ponzu jelly was nicely balanced but my baked cod with ash, beef brisket and asparagus had no beef and despite the fish being perfectly cooked was dull and barely warm. The lobster brioche was similarly ordinary. Wine isn't cheap... More

Staying in Wan Chai / Causeway Bay

Neighborhood Profile
Wan Chai / Causeway Bay
Wan Chai and Causeway Bay are the retail centers of Hong Kong Island. Filled with shops, malls and restaurants, both areas are bustling with people – tourists and locals alike. Causeway Bay has one of the highest rents on the planet, and is a bit more polished and modern than its Wan Chai counterpart. Beneath the surface there is more than meets the eye – find boutique stores in the above ground floors of buildings and wander into side streets to find interesting restaurants and shops tucked away from the main roads. Wan Chai especially has experienced a modern revival in recent times, with an influx of trendy restaurants and bars around the Star Street area. In addition, both areas contain many of Hong Kong’s iconic tourist attractions worthy of your visit.
