Not sure how this is classified as Japanese restaurant as it only contributes a portion in the menu (I would say Italian has a much bigger weighting in the menu). Normally these kind of restaurants are neither here nor there but amazingly the chef at Jazz Ya made it work. I have tried a wide range of dishes over there... More

This is a trendy Japanese restaurant in a atrium type surrounding on top of a small shopping mall. I was staying at the Ascott Bejing City Raffles apartment hotel in the same complex and the top floor has a number of excellent restaurants. What can I say, food was good...service was efficient, price was pretty good and the environment had... More

One of my favorite restaurants in Beijing! A must go if you are in the area. It is in the Sanlitun area. It is a little hard to find because is tucked away into a alley. The food here is absolutely amazing! Also at a great price! I recommend the sushi esp! Also, the tuna on garlic bread is amazing... More

This is one of the few places in Sanlitun that are not superficial. You can definitely find it as long as you manage to get through those tacky bars by the street. The decoration is of course Japanese style and it's next to an Izakaya hosted by the same owner (I assume). The service of Jazz Ya is not of... More

Found this place tucked away off Sanlitun Road (see photo) while looking for a good bar. Set away from the street this place boasts great atmosphere, a good selection of jazz music and better than average food (compared to what we sampled the past 2 days). We ordered the Fried Eel and Tuna special rolls which ended up looking like... More

I've been going to this Italian-inspired Japanese place for more than 15 years. They've always had Japanese patrons and then a lot of foreigners but now young and hip Chinese also go here which is a pretty good sign. First off, the best Long Island Ice Tea in Beijing hands down. I'd say the Japanese soup noodles are inspired. But... More

Charming, quiet location - an oasis of calm. Seems to be a place where friends gather to leisurely enjoy drinks and food. Inspired kitchen. Good ingredients. You won't leave hungry. Very reasonable prices.

Tucked away up an alley opposite Sanlitun Village on the West side of sanlitun bei (north) road, you are heartened by the entrance facade which has a neat little hutong style roof. Inside, a warm, well laid out eating area which serves generous portions of japanese style food. I recommend the lunch menu which will provide you with a large... More

Stumbling around this neighborhood and found this wonderful restaurant. What started out to be a drink, ended up to be one of the best restaurants we ate at in Beijing. Food was excellent and extremely reasonable. American Jazz playing in the background. We met and chatted with the GM whose name was Raymond. I was surprised, this young man was... More
