This place is a must-try when in Beijing whether you are vegetarian or not. The food is amazing, and the menu is so large that you could keep coming back and order completely different items. I highly recommend ordering the purple sweet potatoes covered in...charcoal. They are addictive. I would avoid ordering the pancake or spring rolls because while they are good, they are not as good as many of the other items, particularly the purple sweet potatoes. It is located close to Tiananmen Square and the Forbidden City so if you are in the area, you should drop by. It's on a quiet street away from the main street. Get ready for a great dining experience at relatively cheap prices. And don't forget to try the tea!More

Firstly the decor of the restaurant was nice. The staff were super kind, attentive and spoke very good English. The menu was well over 50 pages with pictures and description of the food you were ordering. BUT THE FOOD WAS DIVINE. The greatest Chinese food...I have ever had. We ordered 7 dished between 2 of us, and every single one was fantastic. Simply couldn't believe how everything was vegetarian. If this place was located in London, it would be sold out need bookings to get in. Lastly to top it off the food was incredibly cheap.More

My 17 yo daughter is vegetarian and we were struggling to find veggie food, as dishes such as Tofu often came with added pork mince. I found this via google as it was walking distance from our hotel. It’s not easy to find, but the...simplest way is to head down Wangfujing Avenue in the direction of Tiananmen Sq and after about 100/200m turn right just before the large Pizza Hut. Walk down the narrow Hutong, past a police station, and it will be on your left. English is spoken, but the menus have high quality photos of all foods. I was a little sceptical about how well the food would resemble the pictures, but the food was amazing. We tried so many different meals but for me, the 2 best were tofu in a Beijing stew, quite spicy, and a roasted aubergine dish we I had 3 times with extra take away. It seems to be a Buddhist establishment, and as far as I know, there was no alcohol served. We had jugs of peach juice and watermelon juice. I’d eat hear every night. Bill came to 200-300 yuan and we have huge appetites.More

Found by accident- good food with almost overwhelming menu. Also serves as a tea house- has "musuem' downstairs- avoid as all it really is is a sales opportunity about buddhism

Not sure if they're the best in the world, but I wouldn't be surprised. The menu is in photos, Chinese, and English. It's a Buddhist place, and they definitely put a lot of care into cooking amazing food. Very reasonable prices.

Really loves this restaurant with many many choices, we tried the duck pancakes, soup (ask no milk), spinach pie, dumplings, tofu Chinese sauce and all were amazing, we ordered too much so had to bring home food. All of this and two drinks cost 277Y....Would recommend, google maps has the correct address.More

Delicious! The food was amazing, the black south African tea (turned out to be rooibos) was the perfect accompaniment. We were so impressed with the evening meal, we returned for lunch a day later. Very well priced but be careful with ordering too much, the...portion sizes are much bigger than expected! The menu is in English so it was easy to point to what we wanted. My girlfriend is vegetarian but I was incredibly impressed with the taste of the dishes, well balanced between spicy, hot and the authentic taste of the ingredients.More

After a few days of either dry rice and greasy veg or 'tofu' (i.e. pork), this meal was a real delight. Me (vegetarian) and my meat eating partner enjoyed four well sized dishes and some lovely lotus flower tea. Came away feeling satisfied from both...a taste and price perspective! Thanks!More
