About
About 18 months after successfully opening Eatalia La Dolce Vita, we gave birth to Eatalai Carpe Diem, a beautiful hidden gem located in the historic center of Beijing, adjacent to Houhai, Beihai Park and Jinshan Park. At Eatalia Carpe Diem, we have interlaced Chinese traditional architecture (hutong) with an Italian contemporary design while delivering Italian authentic food with the same passion. The restaurant has a wonderfu interior patio, a glass house on the second floor and an intimate rooftop. This magical venue is surrrounded by nut trees and pagodas in an environment full of culture and history.

Positives? OK pizza and desserts- but not spectacular in any way. Average? The interior, which might have been chic some years ago. Negatives? Waitress talking or understanding zero English - which is OK and understandable, but therefore constantly trying to avoid our table. Other negatives;...More

Good pizzas, crispy and delicious. Pastas tasted great too. Staffs are friendly and helpful. Recommended and will definitely come again.

TLDR: Do not come here, terrible service. Crossed the city to meet friends here as it came highly recommended, and ended up supremely disappointed at the terrible service from an Italian waiter. 2 of us arrived first and was seated at a table that was...More

In the very city centre, very convenient if you are around the Houhai lake, the Drum Tower or the Forbidden city. It has a very cozy rooftop, dominating the internal courtyard and the hutongs roofs. The service is friendly and not pretentious. It is run...More

I went there with my girlfriend and the staff took really good care of us, especially the Italian owner and maitre Gian Luca and the very skilled bartender Simone, who provided us with a really nice couple of drinks! We were eating on the 3rd...More

Could be rated as an average Italian restaurant, if it were in Italy, but an excellent choice for Beijing. Prices are affordable, certainly higher than an Italian restaurant in Italy. Quality very good considering the difficulties of getting the materials. The spaghetti portion was small...More

Like many of the other posts, we were looking for something other than Chinese cuisine on our last few days in Beijing. At first it was difficult to find as it looks like its in an alley way. It is. But there is an opening...More

After 6 weeks in China, this meal was beyond words. The receptionist was kind and able to work in my group of 15 on short notice. We all ordered drinks, salads, entrees, and a few pizzas. Everything came out exactly right. The service was attentive...More
