This place is an experience! The Peking duck is amazing and they will cut it up in front of you! Usually I am not a fan of duck but when cooked well it is so good! Do plan for a wait or order some appetizers...as it will take about 45 minutes for the duck to be ready. Duck, pancakes with a hoisin sauce mix (a must and only 16 RMB extra) and two cups of tea brought our bill to 450 RMB. The cost is a little steep but justified for the food and experience in our opinion. The closest metro station is Dengshikou exit C and the place is kind of hidden but you will see the big "1949" on a wall down a side road. The restaurant also has classy duck themed decor in many places.More

Those who know me, know that Peking Duck would be my last meal if I had the choice... So when we travelled to Beijing, we had to stop by Duck De Chine, which came highly recommended by our hotel. When we arrived, we were instantly...charmed by the ancient surroundings in which this beautiful restaurant stands. We popped open a bottle of magnificent wine - And of course, ordered Peking Duck. The chef came out and prepared the duck, just like art, before our eyes. It was all we could have imagined... The skin was so crispy, the duck was not fatty, but incredibly succulent, and the beautiful way in which the waitresses lovingly wrap the pancakes just added to the overall ambience. Our meals were excellent, and we walked away from the restaurant saying "Now THAT was the ultimate." An experience we will never forget, and will always cherish!More

Duck was very good, restaurant a bit touristy, but what do you expect in Wangfujing Area? We thought that the Duck at DaDong was slightly better.

The atmosphere and decor promised so much but the duck just simply didn’t deliver. It was crispy all right but flavor was so disappointing. The pancakes were rubbery and overall the food didn’t taste that good. Fun drinks menu and friendly service but food a...big let down.More
