Only a couple of times have I bought a loaf of bread that wowed me. I buy bread about once a month. I don't buy supermarket bread (too many additives) so I make a point of looking for quality fresh bread from any bakery. Sadly, Alexandre bread don't seem to pass muster. Last one I bought was a brown bread... More

I bought some slices of cake over the weekend and was a bit shocked when the cashier rang up the bill, because I didn't expect to pay so much for what I had purchased. You may wonder why I didn't ask the price of the product beforehand - well, the chap serving me was quite unpleasant when I did ask... More

Great sandwiches, salads, cakes, quiches, pastries, bread... Always fresh, with the same, high quality for (relatively) reasonable price. Reasonably good service, with very pleasant staff. Last but certainly not last, a good coffee with a number of varieties - and shall I mention the "smokers paradise" on their terrace? :-) All in all, a must see place in Nairobi (at... More

All I had at the place was two quiches - one bacon and cheese, and another spinach quiche. Hands down, the best quiche I've ever had. It was rich, creamy, filling and presented wonderfully. Coupled with a very cafe like ambiance and very courteous staff, it's a lovely cafe. I was in Nairobi for just a day and happened upon... More

This is probably the best baker in east Africa. Simply world class quality. Almost everything here is unimaginably excellent. The only downside are the sandwich fillings, a bit boring and looking tired.

It's not easy to find consistent freshly prepared bread... but Alexandre, Yaya Centre, have done it! Try it with the spicy tuna and some vegetables, you won't be going anywhere else. Love the Cafe Latte as well.

The selection is fabulous if not expensive, and upstairs is a pleasant outdoor verandah area to catch some sun. Service is the usual ho-hum but a change from the Java/Savannah coffee houses

Good food in nice area but prices can be steep. Recommend croissants and madelines on their menu. Ample parking as well.

This wannebe french boulangerie has very good taste and make excellent pastry but the catch is you have either to be Nouveau riche or blue blood. how they are still in business and profitable is something to be studied for six sigma. Or a living testament of how corrupt a country with easy money not earned can be spent easily.... More
