A great place to enjoy a great Tilapia prepared in an African way. The environment is very clean and service is good. Always have to visit the place whenever I crave the dry fry fish from Lake Victoria

A great place to experience kenyan cuisine especially fish..that is their specialty and they are good at it.Prices are affordable and the fish is done to kenyan standards..deep fried, stewed, pan fried whichever your preference you'll like it.Served hot with ugali and seasonal local vegetables.

In an area that has a lot of western-style chain eateries, Mama Oliech’s has an authentic African feel. Smoke and fishy smells outside, with seating around a central courtyard and a big indoor restaurant set up for music and eating. Welcoming and prompt service. Most of the menu is based around whole grilled fish with ugali / chips / rice... More

This place looked like a hole in the wall type place, but my family and I went based on the reviews, and I'm glad we did. Our waitress was super patient with us as we asked her about almost every dish on the menu. We ended up ordering: - Ugali and traditional kundu: ugali w/ a vegetable dish that had... More

If you are looking for a place to have your fish made the Luo way...deliciously...don't look further. Went here with some friends from Jamaica and the food was awesome...so was the live band!

If you like the crispy fried fish, this is the place, the fish is medium in size so you will be satisfied, one is enough for one person.

The fish was great and everything that accompanied it. We bought to bring home though so never got the restaurant experience. Otherwise perfect if you are craving that panfried fish if you grew up in Kisumu or Nairobi buying fish from the mamas on the side of the road pan frying fish :)

Went to Mama Oliech on a Sunday night for a cheap bite. The restaurant looks extremely dodgy but don't let this deter you. Make your way inside and find a table and wait for one of the lazy waitresses to decide to saunter over to you. We order the fish (one dry, one wet). The sauce is the same on... More

This restaurant is well know by the locals, even though our tour guides say it's considered expensive for them, but cost less that $5 per person plus drink. Very informal dining open to outside, washing hands using large jugs of water in parking lot. Try to get a peek in the kitchen, wood burning stoves. Had flash fried talapia, the... More
