A good outdoor restaurant on nice sunny days. Our service/food was excellent and you never had to look out for assistance. There was always somebody overlooking the table and we were frequently asked if all was ok. There was also an organic farmers market that was quite interesting.

We just shared a light afternoon snack of pizza, which was tasty and adequate for 3 people as a light snack. I ordered fresh orange juice and received passion fruit juice, which I don't really care for. The tables are a bit close together on the veranda so that cigarette smoke from other tables was a bit strong.

The food was okay, nothing to write home about. The service was not bad. What I really enjoyed was the grounds, especially the swings. It's a nice place to chill and relax with a loved one, take a walk and enjoy some fresh air.

The outdoor setting is quite nice and allows for large family and friends gatherings. The wood oven pizza is also good. Service is as any mid-range restaurant in Kenya - not quite there. The waiters are very busy on their mobiles (should not be allowed while at work) and somewhat on the slow side to cater of the tables. Get... More

This Pub is located in a beautyful garden. There is a big playground for kids. It is rather noisy (not only due to the kids). Some of the service personnel are rather rude, but overall it is ok. Food is pub food and ok. Nothing special. Prices on the higher side, especially taking into consideration that portions are rather small.... More

Great place to explore, with its boutiques and its, well, so many hidden treasures. Try it for yourself - not everyone's cup of tea, but totally original. Julie the friendly boss-Queen roams the setting.

Food here was dreadful. I had fish and chips with the fish being frozen squares of fish. My husband had an indian meal which was adequate but nothing special in a country where the Indian meal is generally outstanding. The worst thing about the place was the obnoxious and very loud ex pat 'lovies'. I guess the restaurant can't do... More

First off, probably the best restaurant food I've had in Nairobi. The grounds are pretty big, with playground equipment for the kids, a friendly cat for them to pet, and a free face-painter who kept the kids happily entertained with his banter. It's in Karen, so a bit of a trek from the more populated parts of Nairobi.

The service was poor and there was no one at hand to serve us. Getting the menu was a big challenge. We had to look for someone to serve us ourselves.

Set in 21 acres of Karen, a leafy suburb twenty kilometers Southwest of Nairobi, lies the Purdy Arms. With a view of the famed knuckled ridge of the Ngong Hills (“I had a farm in Africa, at the foot of the Ngong Hills” – Karen Blixen, Out of Africa) it is a relaxing place to stay, have a meal or drink or two.
