This was worth venturing out for in the rain from the sister hotel at the other end of the Village market. No issues as a walk in for 4 people, we had a good table allocated to us. Friendly service from all and a good wide menu to choose from. Starter portions are generous which meant after a main meal we sadly had no room for dessert which was sad as they sounded very tempting. The prawn tacos to start were a highlight. Beautifully presented and very well prepared. The spicy fries are a bit of a surprise as they come completely coated in a spicy sauce. Nice taste but soggy fries are not the greatest. If I ordered again I would ask for fries with the sauce on the side to dip into.
All in all very tasty and I would happily return. Don’t expect it to be a cheap option as course you are a captive audience whilst staying in a hotel and mall complex with the convenience of eateries on your doorstep.

Highly recommend, the food was amazing and good service from Philip and everybody. We will definitely recommend. Everybody's dish was perfect, servers helped to choose wine and they made my friend's birthday a night to remember.

Number 1 on Trip Adviser for restaurants in Nairobi and we can see why. On a Monday night it was a little low on atmosphere but the food was very good. Tribe appears an impressive hotel. It also need not be that expensive. The 3 of us shared a mac and cheese as a starter which was more than enough. The lamb, pork and fish main courses were at a similar price level to other more run of the mill Nairobi restaurants. One slight gripe. The wine list reflects the high price of wine in Kenya. When a wine on the list proved unavailable a restaurant of this standard should offer an alternative at the same price.

So I think I should start of with the things that were alright. The wine, our waiter Philip and the manager Ruben. And that's where it ends. Apart from these three things, the whole experience at jiko was an absolute disaster. The food was nothing to scream about at all. It was salty and dry. We ordered ravioli and that was to come with some sauce. It came dry. The pork was salty and the jus that came with it had no taste at all. And the tofu fries were not edible at all. The experience was just horrendous being that I had come to celebrate my wedding anniversary at jiko. The only thing I can fault about Philip was that he started dusting the Napkins at the table while we were still sitting there so we had bits of bread being flung at us. To add to it, when the cake had come, we had asked for a knife and we were then given a bread knife covered in foil. There was a table besides us where the customer had left and the table was only cleaned 30 mins later. Plus a female waitress had directed another client to the same messy unclean table. This is not what service is about. I would not recommend anyone to come to jiko.

Excellent and formal 👌 service. Jackson was the waiter,just ask of him on walking in jiko restaurant, he made our crossover dinner a special to remember. The kind of treat is personalized, attention to details. Food was delicious and recommendable. Thank you Jackson for everything.

Tribe Hotel just reopened after extensive renovations with Jiko obviously a major beneficiary of the renovations.
Ambience is wonderful with the seating more casual than before, lots of plants and the inside opens to the outside seamlessly.
I was given a very warm welcome by Catherine with her big beaming smile, served by Annvivian and Philip both friendly, exceptional professionals, Nancy the manager another star. Happy to see the menu match the name with alot of local dishes or dishes with a Kenyan touch something that was missing before.
Ann recommended the Lamu Crab which was absolutely delicious, combined with the amaranth and coconut rice, words cannot describe the flavour, The perfect bite. Finished off with the samosas for dessert (yes you read that right) Nutella and banana samosa!!
After a long day this was the perfect way to end the day. Kudos to everyone and ill definitely be back soon. Cheers

Great ambience, excellent service from the concierge (Brett was very patient in helping us choose a table) to the wait staff. We were served by Chris who was very knowledgeable on the menu and drinks, his recommendations were spot on and specific to our taste - we thoroughly enjoyed our meals - the food is good value for money. Fantastic cocktails too - both virgin and alcoholic. Will definitely come back.

It was my first time visiting the Tribe and Geofrey showed out by offering incredible service and also gave recommendations on the best dishes. I ordered the mbuzi curry and it was very well flavored and the meat was tender too. Overall, the servings were really huge, we even had to take some food away. Great value for money! Will definitely be back. Geofrey, thank you for the great service.

Great food was amazing. The options they had on the menu were really good and meet the demands of all sorts of customers (veg or meat lover).
The staff members were very lovely and would be willing to go the extra mile to make sure your experience is better than what you imagined.

The choice of food on their menu is made to perfection .nothing short of 5 star .
Mr Gibson The waiter who was attending to us was thorough very knowledgeable of the menu ,attentive to detail and very warm .

Geofrey recommended the sorbet sampler for desert which was wonderful (try the passion fruit with chili). He also helped us learn a few words in Swahili. Relaxing atmosphere, great service and food. Couldn’t ask for more.

Visited with my family had a lovely diner myself I enjoyed the pulled pork burger and let me tell you something the chilli is an explosion of lava in your mouth, I recommend it to any chilli lovers it will not disappoint. Moreover the best part of the night was Geophrey who was enganging and entertaining always checked up on us and gave as much as information as we needed with good speed of service. Keep up the good work Geophrey.

Took my family for dinner to celebrate my wife's Birthday and they gave us awesome service . The food was excellent and service impeccable. The kids menu was exciting for the kids and they definitely enjoyed their meals. Will definitely be coming back

This is honestly one of the nicest restaurants/hotels I’ve ever been to. Very upscale and all of the food was a hit. Large portions, my partner and I ordered a full meal with drinks and paid the equivalent to $100-110 dollars USD.
