A nice dinner experience.... We've had steak, platters, shared tapas on a couple of occasions. Seafood platter is good and can be shared between 4 people, the baked cheese with figs is a good starter and really tasty. The cold meat and cheese platter with the locally baked bread was a treat around the table. One of the local challenges - finding a good steak did hit the mark - the steak was nice and tender and really good. You can bring your own wine and corkage will be charged. Service has certainly improved over the last 6 months.

This was the first time that I had gone back to Cultiva since the pandemic. It is now bigger and I daresay better. As always, choosing dishes was difficult since everything looked delicious. We settled on our favorite starter, huasca, and I gave in to my ceviche craving. Our wonderfully presented and delicious dishes were complemented by refreshing drinks (in my case, a passion fruit soda). We capped lunch with a tasty tiramusi and coffee. It was nice to see how many people they are employing. Having driven an hour to get there (and over an hour to get back to my side of Nairobi), I could not leave without picking up a few things from their bakery. Service was, as always, friendly and efficient. Parking was a bit of a challenge, but we managed. Do book before paying them a visit.

The last 200 meters of pofu road to Cultiva will workout an appetite. But on arrival, you will not be disappointed. You can taste the freshness of the food and the air. Great place for family lunches. Try the platter with different types of sausages, you will not be disappointed

On Thursday, my family and I ate at Cultiva Farms in Nairobi which came highly recommended from multiple sources. When the wontons we ordered arrived, our daughter, who was very hungry, had a couple before she let us know it tasted strange. When my husband tried it, he realized it was raw pork and the dough was raw. We told the waiter who said he would take care of it. The wontons returned after our dinner had been served. They came out steaming. We got a subtle apology. We did eat the wontons to compare what had been served before. At the end of the meal, we got our bill. We sill had to pay for the wontons. I guess I left feeling a couple of things: -Cultiva prefers profits over health. Serving raw wontons is just par for the course and it happens. Kids eating raw dough and pork is a small mistake and once corrected, we still pay for it. -Cultiva's staff and not asked to pay attention to detail. A cold plate of wonton does not alert the person serving it. To them, it feels no different than the hot steaming one that came out later. Deeply disappointed and concerned for our health. Cultiva is more concerned with their image than our health. The cooked meal was good. But it's in the response to mistakes that you can tell the real soul of a restaurant.

Food was fantastic, but the arrangement of the tables sitting within the small plots of vegetables was ingenious. It was interesting to watch the staff pick ingredients for the kitchen (not mass picking, just handfuls at a time for whatever had been ordered). The kitchen is open concept, so if you're close enough you can see the magic happen. The cocktail menu was also fascinating and should be taken advantage of liberally.

I'm sad to write this review, as I feel that every restaurant that starts off well in Nairobi eventually goes sideways. At a lunch with a friend in November, when the restaurant was nearly empty, we had really inattentive service with no now watching / assigned to the table. Today, a Tuesday, we brought friends from out-of-town for dinner; we were a party of four. I am a diabetic, and one of the things that had endeared me to the restaurant earlier own was their warmth and ability to adapt the menu items to accommodate me. That has gone out of the window, as has all my loyalty and interest in them. The restaurant had run out of chicken wings (the only appetizer I'm able to eat as everything else has starch or flour). They were indifferent about it, including when we shared our disappointment with the (foreign) chef who brought our appetizers. Mind you, it only Tuesday, for a 7:30pm dinner. Later, I requested that they simply remove potatoes from a plate where it is wrapped with fish. They attempted to ask me to take something else for the simple reason that they didn't want to plate it without the potatoes. I had already determined that the other dishes were unsafe so me so, in addition to being out of stock on a basic an popular item, they were also refusing to serve the alternate request. I absolutely refused and they eventually served it. I am afraid the restaurant is getting to high on itself, and too arrogant. Our guests also found the service slow (the waiters might me overstretches). So, we will no longer be bringing our friends here, nor traveling the 30-45 minutes that we typically do to get to this restaurant.

I noticed this place (of which I'd never heard) on Google maps. Finding it was thanks to Uber's GPS. There is absolutely no signposting to the place—and those who know Karen know it is a maze of looooooong roads! However it was a worthwhile find. We went for a light lunch. The salad was interesting and tasty. New combinations not met before. The place is obviously popular with those who have managed to find it and is in the throws of expansion. We went mid-week and there were a good number there. We were told at weekends it is packed. Tents and tables are interspersed with growing areas of vegetables. herbs and fruits picked according to your order. The kitchen is central so you can witness the chefs preparing your order. As we left we saw a display of luscious-looking desserts which we hadn't noticed before or seen on the menu—a good thing perhaps!

Been twice in one week and on both occasions the service has been excellent, food very good with a very varied menu that would keep all palates satisfied. Chilly evening but the patio heaters very effective and staff great at understanding everyone’s need for heat. Of an evening with the lights on and a buzzing atmosphere a great place to spend a few hours. We booked for an evening dinner and walked in one day for lunch, would highly recommend booking as its a popular place.

The presentation, innovation of the dishes, quality and freshness - everything is perfect. Special recommendation - soft shell crab salad, pork belly tacos in red corn tortilla, coconut soda. One downside - the place is becoming a victim of its own reputation. Its gets very crowded ( although the service standards are excellent and very friendly) and when we went on a Sunday, even parking was competitive.

We went to Cultiva in Nairobi to celebrate the birthday of my husband with our daughter and her young family. We had been so looking forward to the evening as we had heard so much about this restaurant and it is one of my daughter’s favourites. The restaurant is beautiful and it was busy with a great atmosphere. We ordered some starters for the table to share, and the evening seemed to be off to a good start, but from there it turned into an unmitigated disaster. After more than an hour my grandson had not received the mocktail he had ordered soon after we were seated. The mains arrived in dribs and drabs, with only half the table receiving any food. When we complained a couple more mains arrived, but still nothing for my grandson. More complaining and his main course finally arrived, almost an hour and a half after it had been ordered. But the vegetables and sauce which we had asked to be on the side where all piled up on the taco, which led to an unhappy little lad in floods of tears unable to eat anything. The two young children had been looking forwards to desserts to finish the celebration in style, but by then it was so late and our grandson was so unhappy and hungry, that we just paid the bill and left, miserable and dispirited. No apologies, no explanations were proffered. A celebration we had been very much been anticipating was completely spoiled. Shame on the restaurant.

We enjoyed lunch here, in a beautiful setting. I was really excited by the innovative menu, and drinks. The drinks were delicious (I had non-alcoholic, and my friend had one with gin).. but I was only slightly disappointed in the meals. The korean chicken was abundant, but I wasn´t a fan of the fried batter. It felt like I was eating a lot of batter and oil, without that real crispiness/crunch you get with most korean chicken. The slaw was good, but I would have liked it to have been served on the side, so I could add more and not have it soak into the delicious homemade tortilla. My friend did a veg option, which looked well put together, and she said was good, but seemed to have potato chips that didn´t look "homemade" which detracted from the overall appearance where you would expect something more organic. I was sadly disappointed in the many pastries we tried, as they looked amazing, but had so very little flavor. However, the bread was fantastic! Would definitely recommend - and will be returning to try other menu options as I still think it is one of our better restaurants and love the concept.

Our driver recommended that we eat at Cultiva Farm for our last dinner prior to leaving Kenya. The location is in a nice neighborhood of Kenya and you have no idea from the outside that it's a restaurant (it's located on a dirt road with no signage). Once you walk through the car park you enter a beautiful little oasis. The decor is stylish and we found the food to be very good. We'd definitely recommend this to others.

Absolutely exceptional restaurant! Reservations only so our table was ready once we arrived. The fish and avocado dip and chips were perfect and our waiter even brought us some grilled bread to finish off the spread. The Korean chicken and pork belly tacos were both amazing and generously filled. All of the food here is created with such fresh ingredients! The staff were very welcoming.

Not worth the money, but if you feel like blowing some on recipes generally similar to Peruvian food, it's a nice environment with moderately attentive (although still hit-or- miss) staff. Our most expensive meal by far in a month of eating out in Nairobi, but in no way the most interesting or best. I will say that the dishes on the menu are not attainable elsewhere in Nairobi and were adequately executed, so if you want duck (I ordered the confit duck leg) or ceviche (my wife's choice) it was quite acceptable. Still the camembert cheese shared plate was doused in overly sweet apple and dates...but again, where are you going to find that dish in Nairobi?

It's rare that you find a place in the center of Nairobi (Karen to be precise) that offers farm to fork food. Being a farmer, I was blown over by the freshness of their food and ingenuity of the chef. The ambience is great! I was out for an afternoon with my girlfriends, and of course, we were late for our breakfast booking. Nevertheless, the waiters took great care of us and recommended excellent lunch options. My girlfriend had the burger, which she has labeled the best burger ever! At some point, we moved to the bar and met Joseph the very astute barman who made excellent drink recommendations. We had the Mr. Miyagi pizza which defies description. Just come by and have it. We are now at the bar waiting for girlfriend number 3! Afternoon well spent already!
