This was my first experience of Ethiopian food, so we had a mixed plate of vegetarian food seven on a huge dish with a rice pancake. The flavours were amazing! Thoroughly recommended. Just be sure not to think that the rolled up rice 'pancakes' are hand towels... An easy mistake to make! I'll definitely be going back!

Best Ethiopian food in Nairobi - in fact I like it better than food in Ethiopia! You have to try the shiro and the zilzil tibs. Great place for sharing a big plate with a big group. I always leave way too full because I just can't stop eating! And it's one of the most affordable meals in Nairobi.

Intersting restaurant with really good genuine Ethiopian food and "dej" -honey wine. Well located but service was a bit on the slower side. Waiters not fluent in English or swahili. Loos not ver clean

Really liked the food , atmosphere is not bad , but they have to improve their service . I'm sure next time we come they will be much better ;) we were group of 5 and everyone enjoyed the food . We were lucky that it was no rain and could sit outside )

Great dishes to share with friends, especially if the last Ethiopian meal you had was years ago. The Habesha in Gigiri is very quiet and therefore, great to have a nice dinner. Owner was friendly and funny with us.

We took some German friends recently and we all had a lovely evening. The food was good as usual. Really great service to start with... And then we had the misfortune to be served by a waiter called Think. Ruined the evening completely. Rudely demanded a tip despite being so rude. Then he had the audacity to tell me to... More

I read about other reviewer of rude service, our experience has been good. Quite attentive. The mixed dish is very tasty and filling.. Very much enjoyed it. It would be great to go with a group to try more dishes too. portion is generous and very reasonably priced. I also had the ginger/honey tea which was a good touch to... More

I have been a regular at Habesha over the years but the owner is rude, usually drunk and the staff are rude too. The food has gone down in quality over the last few months and the prices up. One is not allowed to sit near the fire place as the owner may come and even when he does and... More

Visited with a Nairobi resident as I wanted to have Ethiopian food. First good sign was that there were a number of Ethiopians there The food was as good as i have eaten in Addis. The waiter was great with suggestions from the menu. Will go again
