The interior design is lovely with an amazing view of the Luxor Temple, Nile River, and West Bank: the ultimate package. Food is delicious with a reasonable price considering it is in a tourist location and seems mainly catered towards tourists. Overall, a very nice visit and will definitely come again if in Luxor- our waiter, Mohamed Hosny gave us wonderful service. One more thing: there are 2 dining floors; we went up to the rooftop floor so that's where we got the phenonenal view. Also, highly recommend the mushroon fateer and visiting the lively market just around the corner.

Dear guest, Thank you for taking to to review us. Our clients are a mix of locals and tourists. The locals like to go out mainly on Thursday and Friday. Most of the locals are the higher class. I'm happy you enjoyed! Best regards, Aladin

We only had a short stay in Luxor, but ate here twice because we enjoyed the food so much. Tried the seafood tagine, fateera lahma and a beef tagine and all were delicious. Clientele is a mix of tourists and some locals, and the location is convenient to the tourist souk and Luxor Temple. The staff is attentive and helpful—when we ordered takeout they packed it with to go utensils, which was very considerate. Sit on the rooftop for great views, and sit in the alleyway to avoid climbing stairs and/or to hang out with the cute kittens who sit on your lap and beg for a bite.

I would like to say how much I enjoyed dining at the El Sahaby Lane Restaurant in Luxor, right outside my hotel (the Nefertiti) and owned by the same family. A great menu to select from, and everything I tried over a number of nights on my 9-day stay was delicious. Such as: a selection of cold and hot dips with tabouli, etc, fish and French fries Egyptian-style, moussaka with meat to die for, Egyptian pie (fateer), a bit like a pizza but with different fillings inside a light, flakey pastry cover. I missed dinner there the last night of my stay and so missed out on trying the camel hot-pot or the camel burger. A special mention to Mohammed, one of the senior waiters, who called everyone "boss" and always checked how everything was going with a big smile on his face. Drinks I tried included: mint tea, a hot cinnamon drink, strawberry milkshakes, hot ginger and lemon, and a drink (so thick you had to use a teaspoon) made from milk and cornflower and topped with fruit and nuts. Alas I missed trying the hibiscus tea!

We had a great dinner at Al-Sahaby Lane Restaurant! It's at the Nefertiti Hotel across from Luxor Temple, and the view from the rooftop terrace is wonderful, especially in the evening when the temple and the Avenue of Sphinxes are lit. The service was a little slow but the food was delicious (the mezzes, roasted stuffed pigeon, wonderful tagines, French fries (fries are amazing all throughout Egypt, for some reason!), and the camel burger) and the drinks also great, including milkshakes, teas, and a tasty coffee float/shake. Everything was very reasonably priced. Would highly recommend!

Absolutely gorgeous restaurant overlooking the Nile, Luxor temple and you can even see Hatshepsut’s temple. As a traveller my partner and I like to try and find more authentic places to eat at with a more traditional atmosphere and this ticks all the boxes - very glad we came across it and definitely worth visiting. Make sure to go to the rooftop to eat (it’s inside of the Nefertiti Hotel). A special thank you to Apuzizo who looked after us and was just a delight. Giving us wifi and special Egyptian Tea, he really made us feel like welcomed guests here.

If you are a conscious diner, El Sahaby Lane Restaurant is definitely a perfect option during your stay in Luxor. Most of the ingredients are coming from local producers and leftover is distributed to the needs. Most importantly, they serve Egyptian dishes with detailed description so you know what you are expecting - and you also get to know Egyptian cuisine! My friends and I had most of our meals in this restaurant in Luxor and we were always amazed by the taste and the flavor. They also accept card payment so it is also very foreigner-friendly.

We went here for our last dinner in Luxor.. and got positively surprised! Totally reasonable prices and high-quality, delicious food made it even harder to leave.. Apuzizo the restaurant and hotel manager (yes one can actually live here.. you’ll find it under “Nefertiti Hotel”) even offered as a free starter and tea!! We stayed longer than expected for the evening and had a pleasant time eating, relaxing and watching the busy city from above. To sum it up: Great facilities and service, stunning surroundings (either market lane view or bird-perspective to town and Luxor temple), really tasty food.. Enjoy!

Dear Larissa, It's always hard to end a great holiday and go back to the normal life. I'm grateful you spend your last night in our place and enjoyed it so much. Know Egypt has a lot to offer. If you decide to come back, you have plenty of possibilities to see other things and... eat different dishes ;-) Best wishes, Aladin

We spent a very nice evening in this restaurant, the roof top dining room has a lovely view on Luxor temple, the menu offers a variety of food but of corse you must go for the traditional dishes which are really tasty and well prepared, my tagine was really good. The waiter noticed my girlfriend was a little bit cold in the later evening and brought us a couple of blankets. We finished the evening with a nice Shisha and a cup of the mint tea. Well done to everybody.

Stumbled across this lovely restaurant on the side of the main Souke, and were not disappointed. Wonderfully hot food, great selection, and interesting location. .Ahmed was very attentive, and presented us with complimentary hot, sweet Egyptian tea at the end of our meal. One small note, take a torch if your eyesight not too good, as the lighting was very subdued, and reading the menu was difficult, although worth it.

Spent several evenings eating at Al-Sahaby Lane above Nefertiti Hotel. Abuzizo is a wonderful friendly host that ensured we always had the best meals & drinks. My daughter is Vegan and Abuzizo made sure the kitchen cooked to her diet restrictions. Clean comfortable environment.

After all the great reviews we were confident of a good meal and sunset views. We had hardly sat down before we were expected to order. There’s a large menu which takes time to read, when asked for the third time in as many minutes we hastily ordered. The tahina was ok, the bread cold and hard, the babaganogh tasteless. The kofta and kebab was luke warm, nicely presented though, and predominately kofta with two pieces of kebab. I ordered feteer, small, heavy and pretty tasteless. The view of the sunset however was great. The prices were also high for what we ordered and in comparison to other restaurants we have eaten in in Luxor.

Great Food - attentive service We(wife and I) went for dinner in Feb 2020. Had Sadek as out waitperson. He was very helpful in determining if we ordered enough and not too much. This restaurant is in the Nefertiti hotel and has outside and inside seating. The Lentil soup and Chicken Fateer - which is a multilayer crispy pancake stuffed with spiced chicken- this was fantastic. Low key restaurant with excellent food and service

The restaurant sits in front of the Nefertiti Hotel in a pedestrian street connecting to the Souq. The food was well prepared and tasty. Service ranged from spotty to prompt and courteous - depending how busy the place was. Prices were good and with a very convenient location

Stayed at the Nefertiti and dined/relaxed here on several occasions. It was a perfect way to unwind after a day of wandering through the crowds of tourists and street vendors. On a cool evening they will bring you blankets to warm you as you overlook the Luxor Temple area and the Nile River. Abu Zizzo and all of the staff really go the distance to ensure your needs are being met- no rush, no hassle. I thought the food was great - whether it was just drinks, appetizers, or meals. The included breakfast with hotel stay is also a plus!
