We had a few days in Luxor and found this lovely place to eat. We liked it so much we went back every evening! Really good veggie food (for us) and generous portions too! It was easy to spot the neon sign of Al-sahaby lane restaurant. Once u see nefertiti hotel, you are there! Next to avenue of sphinx. I sat along the lane then remembered that TA recommended the roof. The staff was so accomodating in bringing my drink upstairs for me while i made my way up to wait for my food.... More

The restaurant is run by Nefertiti Hotel, we stay in the hotel, so have very good chance to taste the food here. Very nice view from the roof top, the breakfast buffet also served here. delicious food, we ate 3 times here, tried the Greece salad and different pasta here, all are delicious.

We were having dinner on the roof terras of the Nefertiti hotel which is Al Sahaby Lane restaurant. The owner suggested that i would try the Camel. Never had it before and i must say that it sounds a bit strange. But why not? So i wanned to try it. It was realy tender and full of flavour. Served with... More

This restaurant is in the lane where the entrance to the Nefertiti Hotel is. The end of the street is closed off, and the cafe occupies the street. It's got a great open air feel, but being on the northern side, it's protected from heat. The food was good - really tasty tagens, dips etc, all of which arrived promptly.... More

Authentic Egyptian food, tea/coffee, and shisha (the restaurant makes for an amazing location to people watch and take in the energy of the streets). Or head up to the rooftop terrace with incredible views of all of Luxor. Has heaters/blankets on chilly nights. Very clean. Try the camel if they have it!

This restaurant allows you to eat, right in the middle of the lane between a main road and a busy souk. Or, you can climb a few flights of stairs and eat in a charming covered rooftop restaurant that feels authentically Egyptian. The food is both Egyptian and western, so there is something for everyone. The owner personally greeted us... More

I can't recommend Al-Sahaby enough. It is a beautiful, peaceful, and comfortable roof-top oasis with amazing views of the avenue of Sphinxes, Luxor Temple, the Nile, and the West Bank. The food (both traditional and western) is excellent and reasonably priced. The real jem of the restaurant, however, is the staff; specifically Muhmood. Luxor is such a swarm with hassling... More
