This is a historic place in cairo and has a cultural value considering the remarkable peoples used to visit for a café in last century ' menu is not bad provides different choices but food preparation is really average, one expected more quality and more traditional items and service considering the history of the place. We were three, paid 330... More

Went by accident to Riche Cafe - food is ok , but the whole place seems a bit disorganised and dirty. Paid 250 egp for 3 persins , so price is ok , but nothing special

Good food and good service, in downtown Cairo. The one thing that frustrated me was that the menus available online said that they had WiFi, which was one of the reasons I visited, but they did not. To be fair though there were no signs advertising wifi. The food was perfectly cooked. The staff were attentive and the perfect mix... More

The ambience is decent but the service is really slow, it seems there is only waiter in the cafe. Moreover, may be its just us but there was a huge mistake in bill.

I went there for beer as any liquors are hard to find in Egypt. They charge 5 EGP cover per person but prices are good and no extra charges and no haggling. Egyptian beer, Stella was only 20 EGP for a pint and foods are ok at good prices. It's at convenient location so we went there whenever feeling like... More

I've been a regular customer in Cafe Rishe for quite a long time. Since the death of the owner/manager and the management was took over by his successors.. things changed to the worst... portions are reduced and the quality of food changed. I believe the chef was changed too. the prices are a little bit higher too.

Our first day in Cairo we met here with an Egyptian family friend. In 1919 revolutionaries met here in the basement to plan the overthrow of the king. We weren't overthrowing anything, just planning our day :)

We had a weird soup/stew of bread and lentils that was weird but fine. It's cheap. You go there for the ambience and the sense of a bygone era. Have a lemon soda or something. This is still OK. There's a malaise afflicting the whole of downtown due to lack of funding. Downtown could be a real tourist magnet for... More

Café Riche was once the heart of cosmopolitan downtown Cairo, home to intellectuals and a haven for excellent, old-fashioned Egypto-European food. Not anymore. Even as the rest of the neighborhood emerges from decades of neglect, with the crumbling facades of nearby buildings restored and a new energy to be felt in the grand avenues and handsome traffic circles, the Riche...
