As much as we were excited to visit Abu elsid restaurant but unfortunately it was a big disappointment!! The food was not tasty at all.

This place transports you back to old Cairo, with odd decoration on the ceiling and the walls. Food is traditional Egyptian but menu range is wide. We had the whole pigeon and kebab for main - pigeon is very small, with little meat. It’s the rice stuffed inside that is filling. Kebab was good. My only complaint is the slow... More

This place is do overrated. Their logo is an Upper Egyptian in his traditional galabya, yet if a real one tries entering they would not let him in because of wearing a galabya (Upper Egyptian traditional outfit)!!!! Unbelievable! I'm never setting my feet back again in this place until they change and become civilized.

I really cannot remember the last time i met such value for money. As you walk past the doors of Abou el-Sid you can't imagine the treasure behind.
