great interior, great service, really good food, nice music - a nice place to go for or after dinner. surely not on the cheap side but it is worth it. wine list is good too but wines are really expensive in seoul, in general.

Was there a week ago, when the legendary alto sax Jesse Davis played (yes, the management team is able to take that caliber to your dinner table). I was very laid back that night with casual wear, but the dress code (if there’s any) was...more to the fine dining. Serious food (the chef used to be at Per Se - yes that per se in NYC), and serious jazz. Top-notch players from Seoul or other cities are invited. Pros and Cons: Pros: 1. Food - Even french fries were above my expectation. I had mussels, cheese, lots of finger foods and desserts. But they say steak is their trademark. 2. Jazz - Seriously one of the best. Their music director is a very talented and devoted guy who studied in the States. Acoustic is good. 3. Wine - List not super exhaustive, but all top labels are here, and a few famous years are available. (note - You cannot find much Napa cult here). 4. Hospitality - Service is at its best for wine and dine type venue. Very classy. Slightly different from Omotenasi at Japan. 5. Location - Apkujung is the affluent part of Gangnam in Seoul. You can find lots of other stores to shop around if you’re a one-stop shopper. Cons: 1. Wine price - Quite expensive. Bourgogne baseline goes >$100, Lynch-Bages ~$400 at average year, and you really need a deep pocket for Margaux or Cheval Blanc (>$1000 to a few grands). These are more expensive markings even compared to NYC and Tokyo. The manager knows that too, but still they have a ton of patrons who really like the atmosphere and willing to pay the price for the fine dine. In short: Great place, superb music, nice people with a price. You can hardly find an alternative venue in Seoul for this kind.More

I had a thoroughly enjoyable evening at this wine bar, with a cool jazz band and a tasty cheese offering. It was a perfect environment for a friendly business night out.

If you are in seaoul and have discovered you realy miss wine and chees, this is the place. Discovering that you are not a gloab trorter and that wine and chees is what you realy want, this is the place. The best part is that...this is a realy cool bar, withe awsome music. And if you think the wine is expensive ask the price for for voss water and youll know thre are more expenisve things in life. Just buy the dam bottle order the chees, and admit it was dam good. The visa will burn but it was wourthe it. You can just take that muche sojou and cass before you flipp. ill go back her when im in seoul.More

Walking down the stairs, one enters being greeted by willing and happy waitstaff. Once seated, you have choices of amazing wines from around the world and a selection of food to make your mouth water. Great ambiance for a business dinner or date alike.

This is a nice restaurant with delicious and sophisticated food. I have been twice to Vin.ga. The first time we sat at the counter area (as opposed to a table) and in that occasion I found the service a better than the second time when...we sat at the table. When we returned our last time we sat at the table but the waiters seemed to have forgotten about us towards the end of the meal. We had to work quite hard to catch the waiters' attention to oder desserts and I never got served the water that I asked for (eventually I gave up and decided to drink back at home rather than ask again). Shame because the food is delicious and the place has lots of character. Nice place to impress a date, smart but modern at the same time. There is also live music played, though not sure if just at weekends. despite the slight disappointment with the service the second time I visited I am giving it a good rating because overall it is a very nice place and the first time we visited the service was very good too. Maybe we were being looked after by an inexperience waiter ...so I will give it another try sometime in the future (maybe I'll choose to sit at the counter again instead of the table). Make a booking ahead.More
