When we took our first sip of the soup, we were blown away by how a simple looking bowl of soup could taste so amazing! The locals would pick out the beef and other ingredients before adding the bowl of rice into the soup, mix...and eat. For me, I like my rice to maintain the chewy texture, so I'll use my spoon to scoop abit of rice and dip it into the soup :) To add abit more flavour to the beef slice, you can pinch abit of salt&pepper if not the sauce with onion works well too! My first choice would be: Seolnongtang (originial) 2nd: Manul Seolnongtang (if you're a garlic lover) 3rd: Baekse Seoulnongtang (cooked with ginseng root, red dates, spring onion) There's kimchi and radish at the side of the table. If the kimchi is too big in size, you can help yourself to the tongs and scissors to cut them into smaller pieces. We also preferred Hongdae outlet compared to Myeong Dong as it was less crowded and we did not have to queue to get into the restaurant. Go try it, it's definitely a great experience without regrets! You'll be surprised you are able to finish every drip of the goodness. I can't wait to be back for more!More

Seolnongtang-ox bone soup, the local dish of Seoul made from ox bone, briskets and meat served with boil rice is on our list of food to taste in Seoul. Since Shinseon is well rated and close to where we stay, it becomes a natural choice....Just look at the queue waiting to gain entry to the restaurant. Menu is simple with a few choices. All are good. Enjoy till the last drop.More

this is the place to go if you are looking for something light yet flavourful. i had the most basic thing on the menu, seolleongtang (ox bone soup), and thoroughly enjoyed its homely and unpretentious, yet very satisfying and sumptuous taste.

Soup was creamy and packed with flavour. It was an unpretentious and delicious bowl of soup rice. I went outside of peak hours and solo. Quickly i was shown to my seat. No waiting time. I could see long queue when i finished my meal....I supposed it would be worth waiting for.More

It is always our very first meal’s choice because of its taste & 24 hours daily operation. Its famous beef bone stewed soup to go with beef, tenderloin or inners are always delicious. Its seafood pancake is always the best pal of the meal. Its...kimchi is also one of the best, not too salty & not too pickled but with moderate sweetness. It is very “Korean” & you can be happy there as long as you are hungry any time of the day. More

The ox bone soup plus king dumplings are very filling. The kimchi pancake tasted great as well. Dinner during weekday is not as crowded.

The seolleongtang, which is a meat/bone broth soup, is served hot with a bowl of rice. You pour the rice into the soup and add a pinch of salt and a couple of tablespoons of sauce from the kimchi pot they provide. Pretty tasty. Make...sure you order their dumplings- it’s delicious.More

Our family love soup, went Shinseon for breakfast to satisfy our soup craving. I must say it was an excellent choice. We had ox bone stew with different combinations of ingredients. My dumplings were excellent, but they were too heavy for breakfast, fortunately we had...4 persons to share amongst ourselves. We were too engrossed with our soup and forgotten to take any picture. 😬🤭😋More

Come here for great Korean food. I enjoyed my Seolnongtang (ox bone stew and boiled rice), but there are plenary of other options. And of course, kimchi.

The soup is comfortable. It is not spicy. The taste is on the mild side. Not on the tasty side. But the really good one is kimchi. I would say that the best thing in this shop is the kimchi. The queue in this location...is not long as one in Myeongdong.More
