My friend had her birthday dinner at this restaurant. They were able to arrange a table for 12 people. The food was decent and the service was average.

WOW, WOW, WOW! This restaurant is outstanding, the food is to die for and that's a fact! We were visiting Korea for the first time for our son's wedding, it was also my husband's birthday while we were there. We decided to go to the...best restaurant in town to celebrate and we were not disappointed! Everything about the place is wonderful including all the staff. We have already booked our visit to Korea next year and we will eat here again for sure.More
I used to frequent this restaurant many years back because I really enjoyed the food and its unique flavors and the atmosphere of the place. While it is more on the pricey side, I felt that I was getting my money's worth then. On my...more recent visits though, I've noticed that the quality of the food has greatly declined especially the meats. What used to be juicy, tasty meats are rather tough, dry, boring and lacking in flavor. I was disappointed by the shaslik on my most recent visit. The meat was dry and it came with a few potato wedges and some sad-looking overcooked broccoli.More
As an european living in Korea.. this place got best bulgarian cousine in Korea.. very pleasure staff and always 150% ready kitchen.. owners are great to talk with you anytime! SOPSKY SALAT.. the must :-) 12/10 to visit.. !
I do not live in Seoul however every time I go I do my best to get to this place. I first went when it was small in 2007 (and still remember the shock of how grilled peppers can taste like bacon!) and was blown...away. Slowly but surely I am exploring the menu and having delightful flavour experiences every time. The owner is a gent. The place has enlarged yet remained charming. The experience is completely different to most western food which, while great and of increasing quality is also more generic than ever. Oh, Zelen means green in Bulgarian by the way. I'm green with envy of anyone in the restaurant at any time.More
SUPER!!!!! Lunch set excellent. Personal is excellent. Excellent wine! AIRAN /Айран/ in menu “Yoghourt for drink” - perfect! Sirene po shopski — mmmmm!!! Salats - all amazing!! Traditional big portions)). Full of joe. Bulgarian folklore music! Fantastic place!!! Thank you very much))
Since, as I know, the owner is half Polish, once in a year for a month there is some Polish menu available. I went there last Friday with my Korean friends to try it. We ordered Polish pierogis with cabbage and mushrooms, bigos, gulash with...potato pancakes and cheesecake. Everything was pricey. I realize that you do pay more for foreign foods, but it was way too much. As for the food, pierogis were bad, the dough for bad, way too thin for pierogis, more reminded me of Korean mandus, the shape was not like pierogi, but Polish "uszka". the filling was very watery. Only 7 "pierogis" for 11.000 won is a misunderstanding. Bigos was tasty, but also too expensive. Besides, it was served without anything, any potatoes or even bread. And what was that thick slice of carrot doing on top of bigos? Gulash was tasty but the potato pancakes were not good. they were not grated well and you could actually feel the smell of rare potatoes. Cheesecake was tasty, but it seems to me that it was not fresh, but defrosted as it was falling into many many pieces when we were eating it with forks. Also, what was the red sause(some fruit ) doing on top of the cheesecake? I must say I was dissapointed and left the restaurant being still hungry. If you decide to introduce any cuisine even for a while, make sure the dishes are prepared as they should. Also, think twice about the price, cause 11.000 won for 7 tasteless small pierogis is simply unacceptable. i cannot judge Bulgarian food as I haven't tried one. But as for the Polish food, it was a big no no. Never again! The Staff could be more attentive. Our cheese cake came after over 20 minutes of waiting which would suggest that it actually had to be defrosted. Everything took too much time which is unacceptable. Overall, poor.More
Everything from beginning to end was undoubtedly perfect. The food was tasty and good looking in the plate, the service also was excellent. Bravo to the chef and his co-workers. If I lived in Korea I would be going to eat there everyday!
went with Polish friend who recommended the place. It was a very good surprise as owner speaks Polish too :) very nice decor, feels like back in Europe. good food, good wine, great starters, I recommend stuffed tomatoes. keep it going :)
We went to this restaurant at a friend's recommendation. It is located in the heart of Itaewon, so immediately it was an interesting experience since I like all the sights and sounds of Itaewon. Based on what others and the staff have told us, we...were lucky to get a table without a reservation on a weekend. So already I'm happy. Since neither of us had ever eaten Bulgarian food, we really had to read all the descriptions. We chose one of the set menus that included pork rump steak, lamb with rice, mushroom appetizer and yogurt dessert. We started off with a mushroom appetizer that was really very simple, but also very good--baked mushroom with bacon and cheese topping. Simple ingredients resulting in great taste. Same philosophy for the pork and lamb. All the meats cooked nicely and with the right amount of spices. I wanted the homemade ice cream and when I tried to order it, they offered to switch out one of the yogurt desserts for the ice cream. Really very accommodating. All in all, a very deliciously satisfying experience. My husband is now thinking of bringing his work group here.More
This place has very good food. I usually go on special nights since it is a bit pricey, but worth every penny!
Very delicious foods. Place is nice, food is fantastic Strongly recommend this place. Staff speaks English and Russian. easy to communicate
I have been coming to Zelen for a few years, but I don't believe I have reviewed it yet. It is nice to find good European food in Seoul - Zelen is one of such places. I have had so many different dishes and they...are all tasty. I am originally from Eastern Europe, and having visited Bulgaria on a number of occasions, I get pretty excited to have a taste of home here in Seoul. Love the yogurt drink that I always get with my meal. This time I had their special of lamb which was quite good. The dishes come with too little potatoes so I usually order a side of potatoes. I also like their bread which they give as an appetizer in the beginning. I like it so much that I asked if I could buy a loaf to take with me. They agreed! I will definitely be back. I would give it a 5/5 but the serving of potatoes is really too little (I had three slices or so only included in my meal). Nevertheless, food here is delicious.More
Good place both for business lunches and dining with friends. There's one warning: you'd better be hungry! The servings are huge :) It is a popular and often busy place, but I've never had any problems with service, regardless what other comments say.
Went for lunch and the food was good, but I wouldn't consider it amazing. We ordered some appetizers (mushroom stuffed with cheese and also stuffed eggplants), salmon, and the Bulgarian meatball (more like a mini loaf) stuffed with cheese, pickles, and other ingredients. They were...all tasty. Service was good. Ice cream or yogurt comes with the lunch.More
