They served two of these for 6 people. It wasn’t enough for us. I would prefer separate dishes. Also the staff of the restaurant wasn’t warm or welcoming. Wine was good.

Tomahawk steak was amazing and great wines and service to go with it. I would not hesitate to recommend to anyone although suggest have some extra $$ in the wallet.

What a gem of a find in a jam-packed neighborhood for eateries and bars! 1842 occupies some prime real estate and has been incredibly well laid out. A big enough overall space to accommodate large groups, but with a stunning central 'island' bar which acts...to break up the space and create a perfect environment for those more intimate occasions. The in-view kitchen is a bonus too - always great to see artists at work. A well balanced menu and cocktail / drinks list catering to a range of tastes, but appropriately delivering its key theme as a Czech establishment. As a result the Pilsner Urquell beer is a must, together with the Pork Knuckle and the Tomahawk Steak as the highlights of the menu. Also highly recommend the Charcuterie plate to kick things off with - the care and passion for creating great food jumps right off the board! Finally a nod to the staff - so friendly and professional - provide real insight into every drink and platter, as if they had made it themselves. A new Itaewon favorite - go hungry and leave very, very satisfied!More

Last time i visited 1842, I had the steaks. So this time around, the story is the restaurant also specializes in Czech food. So of course, I ordered Pork Knuckle with Goulash and Pilsner Urquell beer. Pork Knuckle was spot on. In my opinion, it...is better than what I had in Praha when I was there. The outside is crispy and inside is juicy and moist. Value for the menu as it also came with fries and salad. The Goulash wasn't as soupy as the one I had in Praha. So I guess there are differences in Goulash depending on region you go to. The thing I liked about this goulash is the meatiness of it as there are huge chunks of meat inside the stew. And a bit of sourness from sour cream. The waitress kindly explained how to eat the goulash as sour cream needed to be mixed with the stew. The Pilsner Urquell beer was probably the best I had in Korea. The glass was cold and the beer was spot on great pour. Most other places I have went to get a pilsner, the glass was warm so the beer was warmer than it should be. Overall 5/5 stars. highly recommend if you want Czech food in Korea.More

I hosted a dinner for 9 people. Staff was very accomodative on helping us on decanting wine and dealing with varying arrival times of guests. Really liked the atmosphere and the restaurant was quite spacious. Highly recommend the Tomahawk steak and Pork Knuckle dish.

The best dishes are served in abundance, and that's exactly what 1842 had to offer. From quality to presentation, 1842 delivers both the aura appropriate for all types of events; and the taste very specific to their brand. I particularly enjoyed the tomahawk steak and...bone marrow paired with their signature cocktails. Beet margaritas is a must try! The price was most certainly fair for what they're providing. If you're into good food, then I urge you to visit!More

The menu has more than enough to choose from, especially if you love meat! I have eaten at this restaurant more than a handful of times and the food is always so so satisfying. They’re menu is perfect for sharing and trying many new types...of flavors. I haven’t found any other restaurant that compares in regards to unique and tasteful food...Czech inspired! The ambiance is also quite nice! Modern yet cozy. The service is good, but can improve ever so slightly. Keep the beverages coming! If you want to try something new and for really great prices, 1842 is it!More

We decided to visit 1842 after stumbling across posts on Instagram and being drawn by the modern atmosphere and pictures of succulent steaks. We went to the restaurant just planning to have dinner, but we ended up staying for some drinks after as we really...enjoyed the atmosphere. The interior was nice and modern, with a bit of a European feel to it. Jazz music was playing in the background, which made the ambiance more enjoyable to us. The volume was good as it didn’t disturb us to catch up over a couple of beers (Pilsner Urquell on tap – can’t go wrong with that!). For dinner, we had the 30-day dry-aged rib-eye and 15-day dry-aged striploin. Both steaks were very well prepared. The meat was nice and tender and the seasoning was well balanced. We enjoyed every bite of it! We were especially impressed by the quality of the steaks, especially given they are definitely better priced than other steakhouses in the area. Must have something to do with them having their own special steak aging fridge, will have to ask how that works on the next trip. The staff was very friendly and attentive and made our stay enjoyable throughout the whole evening. I would highly recommend this place to anyone looking for a nice venue for a steak dinner. But you might want to makes sure you have time to stick around, the ambiance is great so we stayed much longer than we planned!More

There are many places that have better tasting food for less money in the area. The staff did not know what they were doing, try again in 6 months

I came to 1842 from a suggestion of a friend. I ordered Dry-Aged Ribeye 30 days (58,000 KRW) and Bone Marrow (18,000 KRW) as well as Caesar Salad (16,000 KRW). The ribeye was cooked perfectly to Medium-Rare. Never tasted dry-aged steaks before but i could...definitely taste the difference from steaks i have had before in the states as well as Korea. The taste is more intense and the steak itself is more tender. Definitely worth 58,000 KRW considering, most other steak places in Korea is 100,000 KRW plus to get a one bite sized steak. The Bone Marrow was also interesting as basically you get as the name calls a bone marrow. You scoop the inside of the bone to a bread and add onion and lemon juice. The combination was surprisingly great. After, the server comes to you and asks if you want a sherry shot. Luging a shot through the bone. hmmmm.. interesting. The shot of sherry was sweet and the inside of the bone was a bit salty so the shot itself had both of the realm of sweet and salty which was pretty good. The caesar salad was different from other caesar as it had cured duck meat. I rather enjoyed the salad compare to other caesars where its basically chicken.More
