Reached around 11am on Sunday to avoid crowd. Was quickly seated in a communal hall like Korean traditional house with heated wood floor (diners sit on the floor) after removing shoes. Ordered a normal ginseng chicken soup and a black ginseng chicken soup. The latter...More

Our first visit to Tosokchon. After we had arrived at 12:30pm, we queued for about 20 mins before we were ushered in. As there was a shortage of tables and chairs, we had to sit on the tatami floormat and used the low table for...More

Overall, it is below my expectation. Would prefer clearer soup broth. The side dishes and ginseng wine are good. Price is reasonable too.

We went back twice during our trip this time. Best soup during winter time! Even the kids have a whole chicken by themselves! I personally preferred the black chicken. Good service from the restaurant too. Dun worry if u can’t speak Korean.

This restaurant is located in an old tradition house and method of cooking seems unique. Really enjoyed the food, beside ginseng chicken soup (need to add salt to suit your taste) the crispy chicken and seafood pancake is very good too. Their menu has limited...More

Absolutely love and enjoyed the flavourful Samgyetang.. The fried chicken and pancake were just as great too .. Each trip I make it a point to eat there. Most authentic place to visit.

Had lunch here on a Sat during our visit to Gyeongbokgung. It was about 11.30am and we were seated immediately. Queue was forming up as we left about 45mins later. Like the traditional deco of the restaurant. The dining areas were cramped with tables and...More

You should come here for lunch when visiting Gyeongbokgung Palace as its around 5 to 10 mins walk from the palace. Don't be put off by the long q as it moves very fast. Highly recommended especially if you love hot soup during winter.

Well, most visitors order at least a samgyetang each, and I really recommend that as it is indeed tasty. There are also other items on the menu but the samgyetang is the speciality here. So if you are ordering samgyetang... More

The restaurant accepts credit cards. Unfortunately, the exchange rate to your home currency is not good. From my experience it is about 5% worse than cash exchange rate.

You can order the ginseng chicken for the adults & maybe side dish for the kids. They have the nice pancakes. You can have the option to sit on chairs though they tend to fill up the room for sitting on the floor.
