Barbarestan is a little untypical Georgian restaurant for Tbilisi. In fact, its a cozy Georgian apartment where a big, noisy and hospitable family lives, as the owners of the restaurant are happy parents of 10 kids! For this new project creative team of "Gastonaut" has set a plan - to make high-quality Georgian cuisine in much more interesting style, but still available to all, without lowering the interior concept, creativity in menu and fantastic service. Barbarestan offers interesting Georgian food, borrowed from unique recipe book of the 19th century duchess Barbara Jorjadze. Menu of "Barbarestan" was modified and adapted to modern standards by well-known Georgian chef Levan Kobiashvili.

The service, the story, the food was absolutely on point. The restaurant deserves to be on the Michelin Guide for sure. The host was fantastic, after the meal he showed us the cellar and explained the history. This place is an absolute gem.

I have only eaten here once, so my experience is limited. Staff were excellent, and the decor wonderful. Food was tasty, but very small portions, and left me wanting more. My companion's duck had great flavor, but was dry. My chicken breast....was a chicken breast,...More

A very special, unique restaurant for the best fine dining experience in Tbilisi. Apart from a very excellent service, you will experience something very special- a 19th century Georgian cuisine. All the recipes are taken from a cookery book written by the first Georgian feminist!

The staff were friendly, and the dishes did not take too long to arrive, I think the timing was very good/rather prompt. I liked the story of the old cooking book where the recepies come from. The food was good, but not better than any...More
