Great location near major sightseeing points, great view from tables, enough space between tables. Food was good. Service is good, our waitress came 4-5 times and spoke both English and Russian. The interior is dated. They also had childchairs.

Okay food and the location was good, we had just finished a walk from the fortress and botanical garden. I don’t mind paying a service charge but I felt our waiter hadn’t earned 18% for the 2 times he came over - definitely hungover from...the night before haha.More

Poor service. Waiter took our order and never returned to the table. We never got everything we wanted and when we asked why he just walked away. Food was average.

What a discouraging first experience of Tbilisi. Poor service from the start and the food I ordered as dry as beef jerky. When I tried to complain about the service they thought I was complaining about the bill. No one understood or tried to understand...English.More

Reasonable menu, reasonably priced, as was the wine list. The service was okay - not overly helpful, nor particularly friendly. Between the four of us we had mushroom soup, chicken Kiev, pork BBQ ribs and a beer, a tea and a bottle of wine. The...food was average. However, as our bill only came to 84 GEL ($42AUD), our dining experience at Machakhela was inexpensive. Not a restaurant that I would return to.More

We sat down, 4 of us colleagues, and ordered. As the waiter served us wine, he spilled a whole glass on my colleague's new shirt, jeans and shoes. His only answer was "sorry" and gave some napkins for US to wipe the floor. So there...stood my colleagues with a red stain shirt, shoes and Jeans. We called the manager, who came and looked at us with a bad face and told us that it happens and "so what can I do". The simplest thing they could have done was offer to help clean the stain or make a discount of the final bill. Instead the manager excused himself that it happens and that it's normal. Apparently he isn't a professionalist and has nothing against keeping clients away with his bad manner. The food was great, but don't expect correct relations from the staff.More

Food is very average. Pizza was prepared negligently with huge pieces of sausage and mushrooms. They add 18%(!) tip to my order and tried to persuade me this is a tax! After I showed them in their menu that's tip, not tax. They agreed. Won't...recommend and won't come again. That's a tourist trap.More

Found this really helpful place to try Khinkali and Khatchapoori for first time. Both were delicious. Food and wine some of the cheapest we had on Georgian holiday. Ok it's not top notch, but definately better than some of the bad reviews here. Worth mentioning...toilets were cleanest we experienced in Tbilisi!More

I used to come here often for a lunch break many years ago. Haven’t visit it for ages. The menu is still simple, but O.K. Choice of khachapuri, khinkali etc. Wine was o.k. Service not outstanding, but fast. In general if you want a traditional,...basic Georgian restaurant with moderate service and moderate prices that’s the place to come, if you want smth more upscale, find something else.More

Horrible place except of the view. View is amazing, location is great! They should change or train the staff and the same situation with the kitchen. Taste and quality of the food is bad, that makes bad impression of Georgian cousin and hospitality. In case they...will proof these points,it will be one of the best places, otherwise there is no reason for visiting this place!!More
