We had a nice evening here tonight sampling the craft beer which was really top notch and also trying out the food which was very delicious. Our waitress lali was very helpful and very friendly.

We read a review of the Black Lion on Trip Advisor, so we figured we'd give it a go. The restaurant is located a bit outside of downtown Tbilisi and old town, so you'll probably need to grab a cab up the hill. It was a bit difficult to find, so make sure to keep your eyes out for a... More

A group of us went for a banquet, the food was superb, traditional but with a twist. The starter of a selection of cheese, dips & salad was amazing, including some things even our guide hadn't had before. The mains were lovely, well cooked and served by pleasant, friendly staff. I agree you have to know where you are going... More

Unless you are looking for this place you would easily miss it! No restaurant sign except for The Black Lion on the wall which is below road level. This is a traditional tavern with its old rustic atmosphere, chairs tables and table cloth. It is quiet ,peaceful and relaxing place for a meal. We ordered beef soup, grilled pork ribs and beef stew... More

The food was excellent and the prices were ok! And very nice staff indeed. The only place which gave us only 2 khinkalis although it was delicious and we ordered more after that...

Went there because of the good reviews. Disapointed by the shabby chic decor (peeling wall and hole in tablecloth) and average tasting food. We were charged 15% service charge on top of the food.

The house Saperavi was inexpensive and velvety. We shared a bacon and walnut salad that had us both drawing our breath with pleasure. The beef and pomegranate main was subtle and superb. The service was friendly and the furnishings were eclectic and pleasing. All in all highly recommended. Takes cards.

Hidden gem in Tbilisi's Sololaki district. Cool and cozy in an old cellar with fresh and very tasty food! Good variety of choices with some different foods to try. Loved the sauces! Located on the way up to the funicular so you can go up after for amazing views and nummy ponchiki after dinner!

High expectations were not fulfilled. The interior is very interesting: cozy and attractive old tbilisian apartement but the food was average. Service was rather slow, that's not the problem but added another brick in the wall. Space at the far end of the room has poor ventilation that could be a problem as smoking inside is allowed.

The care put into the food here is very evident. Excellent selection, fresh food and good service. It also has great atmosphere-feels like you are in a wine cellar, but cozy.
