The Black Lion Restaurant served the most delicious food we had in Georgia – and believe us, we tried a lot of really great food. The locality is pretty well hidden as there is no sign that would indicate that there is a restaurant. You will have to look out for the black lion that is painted on the brick... More

We chose Shavi Lomi after reading about it in the New York Times. It had been given a glowing review, we were looking forward to a nice evening at this highly rated restaurant. It turned out to be one of the most unpleasant evenings in our otherwise wonderful week in Tbilisi. 1. The service was absolutely terrible, right from the... More

I'm very sorry about the experience you had in our restaurant. Even though the waiters couldn't recall any incident of this sort from the past week, I believe you couldn't have possibly made up the story. However, being a racist is not an option in our restaurant and we've served hundreds of guests from all over the world for years... More

Food quite ordinary, not to say that is not tasty, but not exquisite. We ate in Tbilisi is much tastier and more spiritual places. Eggplants were raw in the original plate of snacks. The liver stewed in wine rubber. Wine card is not present, the meager selection of wines. Of the visitors only tourists.

This restaurant has changed the address and changed the quality of food. I have to admit that it is way better now. We have ordered two kind of fish that was very well prepared. Unfortunately the rice that was served was over cooked and not tasty. Their chacha was also not good. Hope that they will improve.

Shavi Lomi (Black Lion) is now at 28 Kvlividze Street, in a residential neighborhood on the Left Bank. There is little to tell the first time go-er that there is a restaurant inside the converted house - just a small spray painted black lion to the right of the double doors (no sign or any other indication). Go ahead on... More

Shavi Lomi has recently relocated to Plekhanov/Vorontsov district. The menu is the same, the new place is very cosy and nice, with yard and veranda. Service is good and the food very delicious. Pricing very moderate. Overall this place is a must for Tbilisi visitors to experience modern Georgian cuisine in a very cosy atmosphere.

We were excited to dine at the Black Lion today and got there via a city bus. We were met with a note on the lion mural (see picture) that they have relocated to a new spot. Three stars were given because we met someone associated with the restaurant and he said the new location was not open yet. He... More
