My wife , a vegetarian, and I went there for our first evening meal in Myanmar(Yangon ). Vegetarian food availability was no issue. But the unhygienic surroundings with staff doning filthy singlets and longyis handling our food plates put us off our food.
We ate here late in the evening. We were suspicious when there was only one curry on the menu and it was called 'curry'. We ate chipati and veg set. All were cold. I would have ordered more of it was cooked to order but...glad i didn't have that opportunity. We ate here on the recommendation of lonely planet, I won't make that mistake again.More
Great taste but cheap price. Vegan friendly dishes are available for both locals and foreign vegan visitors.
I will surely go there again with my friends as well as with my family, especially for vegan dishes.
Bharat Indian Restaurant was located in a bustling downtown Yangon.. Went there to have one of my favorite Indian snack "Arloo Puree" - A fried flat bread with potato curry soup with condiments. Also ordered a side dish of fried Papalar (crispy Indian fried snack)....The staff should taught to listen carefully what the customers order. I was served wrong food the first time I ordered. Anyway, there are many restaurants around Yangon selling Indian foods nowadays.More
Food was served really fast, but only because it was already prepared and cold. Staff were constantly trying to sell me more food and drinks. Food quality was also really poor, portions were small, and the price was high for Myanmar. It's not Indian, but...you can get twice as much food for half the price at the covered market 100m down the street (it also tastes good). When we left we all went to street vendors for more food as no one in the group was impressed. Probably the worst meal I had in my time in Myanmar.More
