I was with a small team of four volunteer community service workers new to the area and looking for a place to have dinner. We were with Rotary International and saw this restaurant overlooking the waterfront and it appealed immediately. We were made very welcome,...there were tourists and locals eating in the restaurant at the time. The staff were very helpful with explanations about the menu, the prices and decor were also very pleasing. We dined there on both nights we had available and the overall experience was very pleasant and provided good value for money. Strongly recommended.More

The only reason this is not 5 stars is because we got no claws on our lobster. Aside from that it was great food and amazing staff.

Food was excellent as was the service. Only problem being in March it was just so hot and humid-we went for dinner and had the seafood crepe, fish curry and beef curry. Food was just excellent and reasonably priced. Only one fan over the bar.....and a cat wandering everywhere. Even jumped on patrons laps and on the table which we found a little off putting.More

Food is delish & there’s always a great variety. The beef ribs are amazing, and the fish of the day (Red Snapper) is super fresh. Live music as well, with a nice view overlooking the water.

We stopped here for lunch. We were the only people in the restaurant besides 1 other table. Should have been a clue. We both got the fisherman platter which sounded good but the food was previously frozen, not fresh. Not tasty. Definitely wouldn't go back.

Ate dinner here one evening on a day that had no fishing so there were no seafood options available which was disappointing. However the standard offerings were fine and quite delightful. Service was good and the course timings were fine. It is right on the...waterfront but sunset is obscured by the island across the channel (Iriki Island). The wine list has Aussie and Kiwi wines that are around the same prices as Sydney ($30 - $40 per bottle)More

We walked and saw the glowing sign so we thought we’d give it a go. Happy we did. It was right on the water and they offered live music (we came on a Friday night). Local fish curry with rice was lovely. Good sized serving....Yummy cocktails too.More

It's a decent atmosphere, but the food isn't worth ordering. We ate lunch there yesterday. We asked what the fish was in the fish and chips, and were told 'Basa'. 'You mean frozen, imported fish'? 'Yes - Basa'. Almost next door for todays lunch (Cafe...Du Village) with the same question asked the answer was Pollet (Red Snapper) and when asked if it was fresh or frozen the answer was 'fresh' with a giggle that suggested that it was foolish to suggest anyone would serve frozen fish in Vanuatu. We instead ordered prawn cutlets and a seafood chowder served in a hollowed out cob loaf. The bread was nice, but the chowder tasted like nothing but a warm bowl of cream, with one prawn carefully floated right in the middle and only a few other tiny bits of unidentifiable seafood. We're pretty sure the prawns were frozen, they had a side dipping sauce of sweet chilli sauce (straight from the bottle) and both had a limp side salad. We had a few bites, paid, left, and ordered a much more enjoyable lunch elsewhere. There are so many great places to eat in Port Vila, and so much fresh seafood available, so do yourself a favour and go elsewhere.More

Nice place to relax at end of day overlooking the water. Bar service a little slow but we’re not in a rush ourselves. Usual tourist prices for drinks. Believe they provide live music. Didn’t try the food.Happy hour between 4 and 6. Friendly staff.

Terrific location right next to water. Food is good - service is good - live music adds to the night. Highly recommend for families and couples - casual like most places in Port Vila

The beef curry is delicious as is the fish curry. The food is full of flavour. The wait staff are friendly, but not incredibly attentive (but I think that’s just Vanuatu). Would recommend for the food!

Food wise, I can't fault The Waterfront Bar and Grill. The quality of the dishes we had was fabulous. The wait staff are also really lovely and attentive. Based on those two things alone, I would highly recommend a visit. That said, the one thing...that was kind of frustrating was the atmosphere. I don't know if we just went on an off night or what was happening, but there was a group of VERY loud and rowdy drunk locals. When we questioned our waiter about them, he mentioned that they had been there all afternoon. Our dinner would have been much more enjoyable if the manager had kicked them out. As it was, we probably left a fair bit earlier than we would have because the noise was getting to us.More
