A great example of a place taking advantage of it's past reputation. I used to eat in this restaurant on a regular basis about 15 years ago when I used to live in Vanuatu and was always enjoying beautiful meals. We arrived in an almostr empty restaurant on a Friday night around 7pm.The neon lighting makes you feel like you... More

Went with 3 kids - they devoured the spaghetti but weren't game to join me with the snails (their loss). This is an institution, not fancy but the food and french wine make you feel like a little trattoria in provincial France (which is a nice break from resort food)

This restaurant is a classic in Vanuatu. It has been around for 40 years and has seen it all. Although not fancy on the inside, it strikes just the right balance. The menu has many good choices but many people come here for the pigeon or flying fox (or both!). I opted for the flying fox (fruit bat). It is... More

Our child picked this venue and it didn't disappoint. We got a great history lesson of the premises from the owner Our children were welcomed (despite one of them squealing and trying to catch the cats that came past the table) We had garlic butter snails (we had to have a try)-they were very good , french onion soup--sooooooo yummy.... Visited with family. Was early evening so no real atmosphere to it - separate non smoking area. Pate starter was good and generous Portion . French onion soup was excellent . I tried the bat which was very gamey (as advised) but not fun to eat as late of small bones! Worth a try. The flat lobsters were great and... More

I was expecting great things from this place given it seems to be an institution in Port Vila, however quick service and the complimentary bread and butter was the highlight of the meal. Portion sizes were small, the fish well over cooked and my apple marsala desert was dry with undercooked apples. Particularly given the prices charged we were really... More

Great service and good food. Snails and flying fox for me. Pizza for wife. Great for everyone. Found out that the place was opened the same year and month I was born, even the owner got a chuckle from that

Well for us was hard to find decent food in Vanuatu. Picky may be but when they charge NZ restaurant prices you expect quality. The french cafe in the main street totally overated and expensive, coffee terrible. The above restaurant was about as good as it gets unless we just missed out somewhere else. We did try wahoo and pasta... More
