There are a couple of key understandings which will help your enjoyment of the good food at this place. 1. You not being able to understand French is your problem, not theirs. They have a very successful franchise. They can fill the place for the four days a week they are open with locals. They do not need the business... More

Menu is very limited but food was great. Firstly menu is on a small board , not printed & changes every week. Didn't seem to bother anyone as the place was full. We shared a cold veal salad to start , then duck for me & Tasmanian Salmon for my partner. All recommended. Desert is where they excel !! Specialty... More

We spent a week in Noumea and visited several restaurants. None were bad, but Au P'tit Café was by far the best. They have a limited menu for each week. But what they do, they do really well. Both our mains were excellent, and the dessert was the best I have had anywhere for years. The service was very good... More

We booked for lunch and arrived on time at 11.30. Menu is on a blackboard in French but was translated for us. Our meals came out quite quickly. My husband had beautiful venison and I had the lamb which was average. Desserts were nice. We were on holiday and wanting a leisurely lunch, but I could see our table was... More

This was the best food we had in Noumea in five evenings. As the choice is from four weekly main courses and four weekly desserts, you may wish to check their website on the Tuesday morning from 10.30 am for that week's menu before booking. I chose the local fish, Picot, which was a whole white fleshed fish cooked perfectly.... More

came for dinner, party of 8. Service prompt and friendly, and all meals came out together. Our waitress spoke reasonable English and was happy to translate the French menu on the blackboards. Offered a choice of 6 mains and 4 desserts (no starters). Mains were 2,500-2,800F each, desserts 1,100F. The food was fresh and flavoursome, portion sizes very generous. Not... More

So, I'm going to join the throngs of people singing the praises of Au P'tit Cafe, just to set the tone - I'd read about this place in my research into Noumea, and given its restricted opening hours, and popularity I made a booking well ahead of time via email and received confirmation back. Unfortunately upon arrival there appeared to... More

Au petit cafe was among the best dining experiences of our trip. I would thoroughly recommend to anyone visiting Noumea. The food is incredibly fresh and well presented. The staff are professional, efficient and friendly. It is off of the tourist strip so you will need to book a taxi. It is very popular, so it would pay to book... More

My husband and I went here for a meal to celebrate our anniversary. The ambience was great and the food absolutely delicious. Waiting staff friendly and professional. At 10,000 new Caledonian francs including a bottle of wine and dessert it was not cheap but this was a special occasion and definitely worth it - up there with some of the... More

Of all our dining experiences during our week's stay in Noumea Au P'tit Cafe was the best. The menu was interesting, food fresh, service good and price comparable to restaurants in Melbourne.
