The carne asada is quite good, with both types of cheese. Everyone in our party was happy with their food, from shrimp to beef to a salad, all served on a patacon. Drinks were not my favorites.

Our stomachs hurt for a day after eating here. I am not sure how this gets four stars on here. The food doesn't taste fresh and it's just not good. Yes, the juices are okay, but other than that, it's not worth going. There are...plenty of other places to eat in the neighborhood that are better. Service was find, but I'm also not sure why they call this a gallery. The only art is big photos of bananas. Don't waste your time.More
The food is good and can be shared since the meals are big. They have natural lemonades and juices, very tasty.
When I arrived, there were 5 employees standing by the door talking. I passed them and stood there. No acknowledgement until I asked one of them if I should sit myself and he just shrug his shoulders (by the way, I speak Spanish so it...is not a question of a language barrier). I sat myself down and the server gave me a laundry list of items not available in the menu because they "have not arrived": chicharrones, ribs and others. I ordered the soup. While delicious, it was luke warm. The main course I ordered was the "Patacon Paisa" which was delicious (they substituted the chicharrones with a cold sausage) and I enjoyed it. However, as it comes down to service, and I am really into the service part, it was very lacking. The employees will disappear for long periods at a time or gathered around the TV by the entrance to watch the Wimbledon pairs finals. Not once anyone came to offer me another beer, check on my food and in fact, after they brought me the main course, the soup bowl sat there empty in my table while servers passed by talking with other employees or on their radios. Then they will disappear again. I literally had to get off my table to ask for the check. While the food was pretty good, I would try other places recommended by the hotel next time.More
We are at this restaurant twice because it is simply delicious. We tried the patacón de carve desmechada and the patacón claus especial. Both were good but I personally enjoyed the simplicity of the first better. The staff are nice here as well. We had...a pleasant experience. Pros: Great food Decent service Cons (or just things to be advised of): Not the cheapest place. You can spend up to two or three times the price of an average meal. Tip is included in the bill so take that into considerationMore
Ate here due to its close proximity to our hotel. Our waiter Sebastian spoke great English and made drink and food recommendations which were perfect. Authentic Colombian and a great experience.
Excelent food great prices. Had a birthday lunch and it was very nice. They sing, give cupcakes and hats.
This place has some amazing-looking dishes. I only ate a few and the ones on nearby tables looked even better. I thought the appetizer arepas were kind of bland. The patacon I had was fantastic. Service is friendly and profession but maybe a little on...the forgetful side.More
Halo mis gentes, i and my friends tried it out for the first time this year, and i must say this was one of the best decisions i made while in Bogota. if you love plantains then you will like this restaurant. The ambience and...setting of the place is so cool and lovely, while it's a bit pricey but worth every pesos. Have the Colombian twist to plantains, plus the music is so soothing. its best visited weekday after 7pm. in my opinion.More
Nice atmosphere and even better food here. I had chicken served on a plate made of plantains- you get to eat the plate! Plenty of great local foods here,
Occasionally, you come across small restaurants that sell fairly cheap local food that really satisfies. Patacones is such a place. Selling a variety of meals that consist of a baked thin corn-bread platter covered in a variety of meats, veg, seafood in various combinations, this...is filling, tasty food at its best. Service was very friendly and I did manage to order in English. Extremely good value and the food was well cooked, too. I went for real man-food (beef, pork scratchings and sausage with a guacamole side and salsa dip). Very satisfying. If you're in the area - go local and try the food here.More
Food is delicious. The place is good and the menu is varied . Should pay more attention to the service because the waiters are very serious and few smile. The place in Cra 7 with 62 street is excellent
Just FYI, this is a chain restaurant, but the food is really good and it isn't tacky feeling or anything! They have loads of different kinds of patacones you can try and it's very reasonably priced. Staff was friendly, food was good. My Colombian friend...actually sought this place out and took me there so I could taste local food, so I know it's liked among Colombians and isn't a crappy Colombian version or Denny's or anything. I'd highly recommend it! There's another, smaller branch of this up north a bit further, near 11 and 82 I think - just look it up on Google Maps. It's in a mall though, with only a small sitting area, so if you'd rather have an actual restaurant experience, go for this location.More
We ended up eating here because it was within walking distance from The Grace Hotel (and the Holiday inn Express). Basically toppings placed on a patacones (green or sweet) if you don't want a crunchy tortilla on the bottom then go with sweet. Their blended...lemonades were fantastic. I had coconut and my son had mango. The drinks- awesome. The food- just good. I'd bring friends here because it's a fun conceptMore
The wait staff is amazing and patient to foreigners. Jhon did a great job trying to explain what the restaurant was about. As you can read int he other reviews, their specialty is a patacone, which is a flattened Plantain fired like a tortilla. There...is about 30 different meals that they serve on top of these and you can ask for mild or super spicy chili sauce (aji). It's a nice sized meal. My dinner guest had the Mexicano and I had the lomo with peppers and onions. It was very delicious. The seating is open-air and the atmosphere is what you would expect in a restaurant with some TV's and some traditional Central/South American wooden carvings/murals. So to sum up, good food, good service, and interesting atmosphere for 25000 COP ($13.00 Dollars). Can beat it.More
