A salad bar with lots of variation, made me come back for more. The meat was served on a hot stone, juicy and tasty. Very acceptable wine. Good experience.

Restaurant was clean, service was pretty good, and the salad bar was great. We had trouble eating enough vegetables while travelling through south america so the salad bar really attracted us to this restaurant. We were wary of possibility of getting food poisoning from eating...raw vegetables but we had no troubles here at all! They had cooked broccoli and a variety of other salads, soups and deserts. We ordered a caper/butter fish and chicken - both were tasty.More

Restaurant as second choice as the first one was close at lunch. Normal food, nothing really special, good wine list with many local wine. some good options and the salad bar. Service fast and efficient
I ordered 400gr of meat. It was served on a hot stone. Because of the hot stone a lot of fat splashed over the table and my clothes so my clothes where full of fat spots. After I had my food i saw that everyone...else received an apron before they had the meat. When we got the bill I mentioned that my clothes where full of fat spots because they didn’t have me an apron. They didn’t do anything about it. No free drink, no paying for the laundry, no discount, nothing. The only thing they said is come back tomorrow. Yeah, I’ll never will go there again. About the meat: From the 400gr at least 150 gr was fat. So the food wasn’t good at all. In the area is a much better Argentina steakhouse called: parrilla casa Argentina In this steakhouse you only find locals and they know where to eat nice beef. In this restaurant you’ll only find tourist busses of people.More

I was in La Paz for 2 weeks and stayed at the Camino Real and this restaurant is downstairs. Well, it's not just another hotel restaurant! It is busy for breakfast, lunch and dinner - frequently with locals. I didn't eat lunch there, but at...dinner they have a salad and vegetable bar that is included with their main meals. There is a broad selection of vegetables and salads and deserts! I had mixed brochettes (chicken and beef) and a sirloin steak another time. Delicious and perfectly cooked. Their meat is served on a sizzling platter. Wine is 35% off for the 'year of wines'. Service is excellent and they have staff that speak English. Great food and value!More

In our hotel, but so accommodating we have eaten two meals here rather than going out! Great food, like price, excellent service, ambient atmosphere. Just super!
Hello John, thank you for visiting us and for your valued feedback.
Stayed at hotel so enjoyed the pretty decent breakfast buffets. Looked at lunch/dinner menu (same) and found to be pricey compared to nearby hotel restaurants and five times as expensive as nearby mom-and-pop restaurants serving nice, home cooked meals.More
Hello Paul M, we appreciate the time you took writing on us, we are confident that our prices reflect the quality of food and service we deliver, as you have seen in one meal you can have unlimited salads, sides, soup and desserts; we are happy...More
We agreed with other reviewers that this is an outstanding restaurant. What hasn't been mentioned is that they have very tasty SOURDOUGH bread. As Northern Californians, we appreciated this touch. We found the location a bit challenging to get to since we walked and there...were pedestrian obstacles. With the low price of cabs in La Paz, just take a cab. The salad bar is a dream including soup, pasta, cooked vegetables, side dishes and light desserts. It comes with all entrees or you can just have the salad bar for $7. Great option for those avoiding meat.More
Hello Jaysacto, thanks for visit and the review, regards all the way to beautiful Northern California.
The restaurant is both serving the Camino real hotel, as well as outside guests. And judging by its popularity, it is indeed a very good restaurant. Portions are enormous though. We ordered the 800g grill for one person, which could feed 3. The quanity was...very good, also the vegetarian grill.More
Hello worldtravellerTom, thank you for the visit! Regards.
We had dinner in this restaurant located downtown in La Paz. Service is friendly and timely. Most of us had meat and it was excellent (beef or chicken). A buffet is available for vegetables, soups and dessert. Worth a visit !
Hello Petrus61, Thanks for the visit and the lovely review, best regards.
La tranquera is a sorts of franchise where they have several in the city of la paz. Ive been two of them in the city and i recommend going to the one that is on captian ravel. The food is probably all the same but...the one in the hotel had better presentation and service. I order steak and it was done to my liking. The buffet had a really gooood peanut soup. Its hard to go wrong with peanut soup but here it was memorable. i constantly returnMore
Hi, Ferhaj, thanks for coming regularly, we appreciate your words.
Place is packed on weekends so you better make an early reservation. They have a varied salad bar that always carries soup (which is hot and fresh) besides sauces, salads and desserts which are complimentary if you order a dish. Dishes are between 15$ to...25$ but they are worth it cause it is a good portion. Food tastes good, u get meats served on a wood and stone plate. Very recommended if you eat a lot. The pic is a PARRILLADA FOR ONE which has beef meat, pork chop, sausages and some other delicious grilled things.More
Dear, thank you your leaving a word on our services and a good head up for weekenders.
Very good meat (lomo), buffet of salads veggies and some rice / yucca. Quick service Nice ambiance The restaurant is on the 4th floor of a small mall

We were recommended this restaurant by a La Paz native, and it was full of locals having lunch. The menu is extensive, but is typical of Bolivian lunch, which takes up to two hours. I wanted a light lunch and there were few choices -...I chose chicken soup, which was a whole breast escalope and potato in broth, and came with full salad bar. Too much for me on that day, but a great choice for a hungry person. The salad bar was plentiful and looked delicious, and the staff constantly replenished the different salads throughout the time we were there. Dessert was also included, and there were several different dishes, including fruit salad, flan/creme caramel, cake and quinoa milk pudding. Staff were constantly on the go producing food that was not on the buffet, and helpful when we were stuck with the menu. Definitely a good place to have a non-tourist lunch.More

Our tour group -- 11 -- dined here and had several options for the main course; beef, chicken, kebabs were selected and everyone enjoyed the large and delicious portions. A nice salad bar included soup. The dessert selection was also quite nice. Didn't see many...locals here but several larger groups were present. Staff attentiveness was very good. Since it was a group function I didn't see the menu so cannot talk about prices.More
