Food and ambience

The restaurant in short, is an embodiment of centuries-old culinary Armenian heritage -- from the exotic spices that they have intermingled withe Lebanese cuisine, to the vivid colors and decorative fixtures that they have delicately decorated the interior of the restaurant with. Today, any guest visiting Almayass will find our taste to be familiar yet traditional. The very notion of Almayass, reminiscing the sound of an `Al-Mays` mountain tree gusting through a delicate Mediterranean breeze, embodies the home-like atmosphere of Almayass, where our guests will experience a culinary journey leaving them with heart-warming memories.

Located at Sheraton Cornish Abu Dhabi, the licensed Lebanese and Armenian restaurant Al Mayass has a special spirit that takes you in a journey in history and traditions of the rich Lebanese and Armenian cultures, the restaurant owns an open sea view where you can...spot the sunset. They treat every single guest a VIP treatment thanks to restaurant manager Tony, he welcomed us and guide us all over our experience, very well done! Huge menu to select, long list of cold and hot mezze, for the cold we starting with Al Mayass hummos and beetroot aubergine, Arminian tabbouleh, and Fattoush, the display is amazing with homemade taste we loved all these healthy options. As for the hot we selected spicy potato, Kebbe with cherry, (Ras asfour) which is meat cooked and marinated with cherry, we love it specially that mild sweet cherry flavor. Almost full but still the mixed grill is a must try so tender and served with grilled vegetables and spicy bread. For the dessert we selected Osmaliyat Al Mayyas and mafrouket fistouk halabi with pistachio, rich cream with sugar syrup and honey and a huge fruits plate, it was perfect selection. Al Mayass at Sheraton Cornish Abu Dhabi is a must try restaurant if you live in the capital or visiting and highly recommended!More

Feels like a restaurant on Mount Lebanon. Attentive and kind service. Great salads and hummus and cold Ksara rosé to drink with the chicken.

I used to have better experience at Almayass. In terms of food quality. Three dishes where lacking taste i.e the vine leaves overcooked, the spicy fish not so fresh . However they have compensate us adequately that's why I'm giving average

If one word could sum up our Dinning experience at Almayass restaurant then undoubtedly that would be Awfully Ah-mazing. It’s a beautifully designed and culturally adorned restaurant located at the mezzanine Floor of Sheraton hotel, Corniche Road. The view from the restaurant are beautiful and...mesmerizing. Be it lunch or dinner date, family gathering or any business meeting they have the perfect mood for every sort. They’re graciously serving Armenian and Labanese cuisine and I must say they serve it like a pro. We have tasted Labanese cuisine so many time at so many different places that we now know it very well how the taste of authentic Labanese food taste like. But it was our first time to try out some the Armenian dishes in UAE. They master both these cuisines. We ordered lentil soup, tabouleh and fattousch salad to start with. All three of the items were divine. Then we had grilled fish, grilled jumbo prawns (yumsters), boneless chicken, Armanian Manti, Basterma Almayass, veel cubes with cherry sauce, and itch. Last four dishes that I mentioned were Armenian dishes while the three at the start were Labanese. All the food items were prepared very keenly and tasted so well that even it was our first time eating Armenian cuisine it felt like we are very well familiar with that before. They tasted so well to our taste buds that we felt fantastic. Their drinks were refreshing and good in taste along with food. We loved each and every dish that they served. As far as ambiance is concerned that too was stupendous. The staff was courteous and polite and they knew exactly how to treat each and every single guest with dignity. We loved their kind gestures and sporty spirits. Hamza was the server who took care of our table and he did his job fantastically. The chef and his team too did his job par excellence. We’d love to visit this beautiful place again and again.More
