Had the pleasure of cheese and wine night here recently - I arrived slightly early but was given a tour and informative guide of the cheese on selection by the staff - really a very nice man who served me and was again a credit...to the hotel!
Really a good value deal, wine was pleasant and I would totally recommend this for an evening as a couple or with friends - again a must visit!More
This is the only restaurant in this great hotel ,possibly because most of the clients are business men coming to spend time in the close by Abu Dhabi national exhibition centre ( ADNEC)
Clean restaurant with friendly staff who serve you in the restaurant itself...& at the Terrace as well .More
They have a wine and cheese evening every Wednesday. It was our 2nd visit. This time it was not as good as the first one. The assortment of cheese was not as varied. I don't know if it was because ramadan was about to start....The quality of the drinks is quite good. The price was OK (AED 150/person) when the selection of cheese was better. It now seems a bit too expensive
Our waiter was very friendly and attentive. He made a difference to our evening
I would only recommend if you go on a groupon half price dealMore
Did this recently on a half price Groupon, which made it good value. I wouldn't pay the full published price.
Prive itself is a modestly sized lounge bar which does not make the most of the potential views from this iconic building. Staff were generally...professional but not particularly attentive or warm. The food comprised an excellent selection of around 20 interesting and high quality cheeses, with breads, grapes, strawberries, baked camembert and a baked cheese mousse. There were mini cheesecakes too. All was of a high standard but the cheese needed other accompaniments (such as celery and carrot sticks, pickles and dried fruits) to do it full justice.
The wines were however disappointing, with only one choice of white and red, not the advertised selection, and these were not fine wines, rather the Fuzion blend available in liquor shops for around 40 dirhams.More
After reading the details on a Groupon Voucher for a Cheese and Wine Night at Prive, I thought it was to good to be true but Hats Off to The Hyatt Capital Gate Abu Dhabi, I really think they are on a winner here. This...is a lovely hotel, the building itself is an architectural delight and I am fascinated every time I drive past or get the chance to visit this Hotel.
The setting for the cheese night was on the Mezzanine Level in a lovely room, not overly large but with good music and a real lounge feel about it. The cheese on display was amazing as were the desserts. I would have loved to know more about the wine we were drinking, perhaps a little talk on what region it comes from, where to get it here in Abu Dhabi, cost etc....
The staff did a great job at accommodating our party and were on the ball with refills.
I had a fantastic night at Prive and even without a Groupon Voucher it is well worth the 130 dirham cost.
This is also a great place to take visitors, it has a lovely ambiance and overall a thoroughly enjoyable experience.
I have already booked to go again.More
Savour a variety of 20 artesian cheeses from five different countries with delicious homemade that how i am start my night in prive Hyatt Capital Gate Abu Dhabi, the bar wasnt busy was couple of tables, my girl was super happy to find chocolate in...the table with the cheese, service was awesome i belive name was altien he really take good care of us during this nightMore
Went there for Italian Night promotion. Slightly surprised when arrived as the place is more of a lounge and quite small. The food selection was not as vast as other theme nights you can find in Abu Dhabi but here in Prive, they made sure...every dish made with high quality. Right down from the homemade soft breads, the amazing cheese selection, to the tender asparagus and grilled eggplants. The dishes were simple and homey, reminds you of the Italian grandmother you never had whipping out her favorite cooking with handpicked ingredients from her garden.
The promotion also includes free flowing red or white wine and Italian aperitif. The waiter was alone however he was attentive without being intrusive. A quality which is much appreciated. The chairs were too low to my liking but then again Prive is more of a lounge that a dining venue. Look past that and bring some good conversation.More
